We’ve looked at the two men’s semi-finals being played on day 13, and come up with three brilliant betting tips to help you out with some of your punts this Friday.
Best French Open Bets Today
Here are the bets we suggest making on day 13 of the French Open, where two men’s semi-finals are taking place.
Alcaraz to Beat Sinner 3-2 @ 4/1
We said over in our full Alcaraz vs Sinner prediction that we couldn’t pick a winner of this match. But here, we’re plucking up the courage to do so, and we think it’ll be the third seed who prevails.
Here’s the argument: Alcaraz just beat Sinner in Indian Wells. Here in Paris, the conditions are equally in Alcaraz’s favour, if not more so. Since then, Sinner’s form has cooled off ever-so-slightly, primarily because he’s had a hip injury and has been dealing with sickness. Combine these two factors, and it gives Alcaraz enough of an edge to get across the line in this match.
But, don’t think it’ll be a walk in the park. Sinner is 53-2 in completed matches since the US Open. The man knows how to win matches. He almost has that kind of ‘can’t lose’ confidence about him right now. He’ll get stuck into Alcaraz and make a brilliant match out of this.
However, we believe the Spaniard’s dynamism, extra time on the clay, and slightly elevated fitness levels due to Sinner’s injury give him the edge here.
Alcaraz to Win and Over 38.5 Games @ 21/10
This is a similar bet to above, but offers a more conservative approach. There’s a chance this match wraps up in four sets – it really comes down to how a few crucial points play out. Regardless of whether it’s four or five sets, Alcaraz and Sinner will be playing such tight tennis, that there’s a strong chance the games are over 38.5 either way.
Zverev vs Ruud to Be Five Sets @ 2/1
Looking over at the day’s other men’s semi-final, Alexander Zverev takes on Casper Ruud in another evenly balanced match up.
This is No. 4 seed vs No. 7 seed. Zverev has made three Roland-Garros semi-finals in a row, while Ruud has been in the final here in Paris twice. Each has some reasonable weapons (Zverev the serve and backhand, Ruud the forehand), but are inherently grinding, defensive players.
Expect this to be a late finish, particularly since it follows Alcaraz and Sinner. There’s every chance it goes five as well, simply because of how even these two are. Ruud has the slight edge in rallies with his forehand, but Zverev’s serve will keep him in sets.
Ruud has already played one five setter this tournament, while Zverev has contested two. Their only Grand Slam meeting was at this stage last year, and Ruud won in three. However, that was a very different Zverev. This time, expect a much better spectacle as this one goes the distance.
