Colombia begin their Copa America campaign on Monday agaisnt Paraguay and Jamie Kennedy is backing Los Cafeteros to come out on top.
Colombia vs Paraguay (Monday, 23:00)
Colombia will be looking to hit the ground running in their opening Copa America match with Paraguay at the NRG Stadium on Monday.
Currently unbeaten in 23 matches, many punters have Colombia down as tournament dark horses in the USA this summer.
The same can’t be said for Paraguay, whose narrow 1-0 friendly win over Panama last time out is their only success this calendar year.
The Colombians are heavy 3/5 favourites with Betfred to come out on top in Texas but we can boost the price further (4/5) by throwing in under 4.5 goals.
Being rock-solid at the back has been the foundation for Colombia's current 23-match unbeaten run.
Nestor Lorenzo’s side have managed to keep the back door shut in 14 of those matches, winning to nil on 11 of those occasions.
That should stand Los Cafeteros in very good stead this summer and they can get off the mark in Group D by putting in a professional performance to see off Paraguay.
Daniel Garnero's side have won just one of their last 11 matches, losing seven times during that period.
Six of those seven defeats featured under 4.5 match goals, one of which was a 1-0 loss to Colombia last November in a World Cup qualifier.
On top of this, each of Colombia’s last six victories have produced less than five match goals, and a similar story looks set to unfold at the NRG Stadium.
