Thursday’s Bet of the Day see’s me return for another goals bet in Belgium then off to Norway for the first time.

Genk vs Royal Antwerp

🇧🇪 Jupiler Pro League

Thursday 20th May, 17:30

Genk host Antwerp knowing if they fail to win then Club Brugge will be crowned champions before their game with Anderlecht. Antwerp on the other hand must win to keep their slim chances of catching Genk in second and qualify for the champions league qualifiers.

Genk’s games have been full of goals all season. Their last 13 league games have all seen a minimum of two goals with 11 of those going over 2.5 goals. Their home games in particular have seen a lot of goals with all 19 seeing a minimum of two goals with 13 going over 2.5 goals. No side has scored more than Genk’s 42 goals at home in the Belgian league however they’ve only managed 5 clean sheets in those 19 home games.

Antwerp’s games this season have also been entertaining and full of goals. In their last 9 games alone there’s been 35 goals with 7 of them going over 2.5. Antwerp have a strong scoring record on the road scoring in 15 of their 19 away games scoring 30 goals. Clean sheets ain’t their strong point though conceding in 15 away games losing 27 goals.

Rosenborg vs Brann

🇳🇴 Eliteserien

Thursday 20th May, 19:30

It’s only both sides 4th game of the season and thats usually a bit early in the season for me to get involved in a league but this game stood out to me due to both sides contrasting starts.

Rosenborg have kick started their season unbeaten winning one and drawing two. While that might sound like a great start, their two draws both come away from home to Vålerenga (who finished 3rd directly above Rosenborg) and to Bodo/Glimt (who are the current champions and who won 81 points out of a possible 90 last year). Rosenborg’s only home game resulted in an impressive 5-0 win over Viking.

Brann on the other hand have had a disastrous start to the season losing all three games with an aggregate score of 10-1. Two of those defeats were also away from losing 3-1 to Viking (who Rosenborg defeated 5-0) and last years runners up Molde 4-0.

Bet of the Day

Once again I’m backing goals in Belgium as two sides who are usually involved high scoring games meet. Both sides three meetings this season have produced a whopping 16 goals with all three going over 2.5 goals. Then to Norway where there’s a meeting between two sides who’ve started off their respective campaigns in contrasting form. Can’t see anything other than a comfortable home win.

  • Genk vs Royal Antwerp over 2.5 goals.
  • Rosenborg to win & over 1.5 goals
  • Double pays 31/20 (Bet Victor)
