Best Australian Open betting tips for day 8
Djokovic vs Lehecka over 3.5 sets @ 3/6
Novak Djokovic has looked good so far at the Australian Open, but so has Jiri Lehecka. The Czech player even won the Brisbane event, so he’s been very consistent this year.
He also has the game to really trouble Djokovic because he has a strong serve and plays pretty aggressively from the baseline. This is a matchup that could easily end up being complicated for Djokovic.
He generally tends to struggle against super-aggressive players like Lehecka, and so far, their form has been rather comparable. Backing Lehecka to win this match might be a bit too much, but he should be able to win a set. Even if he upsets Djokovic, he won’t do it in straight sets.
Zverev vs Humbert under 3.5 sets @ 4/6
Zverev has been another player who has looked very solid so far at the event. He’s been cruising through his matchups and generally looks like a man ready to win it all. Humbert, to his credit, has also been quite good.
However, he’s not at Zverev's level, so this is going to be a tough matchup for him because he'll have to hit through the German if he hopes to win. He failed spectacularly in Paris not too long ago, so we don’t think he’s likely to do it in Melbourne either. Back the German to keep it simple.
Gauff vs Bencic under 20.5 games @ 4/6
Bencic has good hitting ability, but she's coming back from a long layoff and needs more time to really find that peak form again. Her journey ends against Gauff, and this line was rather perplexing.
The way Gauff has played so far at the event makes this line basically a gift because not only do we think she’ll win in two, we think it will be pretty easy. Something like 6-3, 6-2 is very likely based on what we’ve seen from the players, so take this and run with it. Gauff is looking spectacular.
