Best Australian Open betting tips for day 5

Kudermetova to beat Boulter @ 1/1

Veronika Kudermetova has played excellent tennis to start the year, and the Russian is generally a very solid player. While Katie Boulter had her best year of tennis in 2024, her start so far this season has been a little shaky. She did impress in the first round, but certainly not as much as Kudermetova, who looks locked in.

We’re going to back the Russian to win here because she has simply played the better tennis recently. Boulter nearly beating Swiatek seems to have impacted the markets quite a bit, giving us nice odds on a Kudermetova victory. Outside of Boulter’s United Cup performance, she hasn’t really looked as impressive in our opinion.

Anisimova to beat Raducanu @ 5/6

Amanda Anisimova is a fantastic tennis player who mostly plays from the baseline. She’s so good from deep that she can essentially demolish any player in the top 10 on her day. Emma Raducanu has similar attributes, but arguably less power.

In a baseline showdown, it’s very likely that Anisimova will have the upper hand. She’s also looked a bit more impressive so far this year, with Raducanu not playing at all before this event.

The Brit showed some serving issues in her opening match, which she dismissed as not that important, but 15 double faults will get her beaten against Anisimova. Overall, the American looks a bit more solid right now.

Rune vs Berrettini over 3.5 sets @ 3/6

The reasoning for this bet is rather simple. Both Matteo Berrettini and Holger Rune have looked decent enough so far at the Australian Open, but neither has looked strong enough to win this one in straight sets.

It’s generally a very close matchup because both players are on the same level. The two most recent matches they played both went to three sets. We think it’s pretty unlikely that in a best-of-five match, one of these players finds a level that’s strong enough to win the match in straight sets. It just doesn’t seem likely based on what we’ve seen from both this year.
