Best Australian Open betting tips for day 12
Badosa vs Sabalenka over 18.5 games @ 3/6
A semi-final of a Grand Slam event is going to be a rather nerve-wracking experience for Badosa, who has never stood on this stage. Yet, with the way she’s performed recently, there are reasons to be optimistic about her chances.
Winning sets against Sabalenka is not foreign to her, and the Belarusian has proven herself to be a tiny bit vulnerable this year.
Add to that the fact that Badosa is arguably playing some of the best tennis she’s ever played, and you have a matchup that doesn’t really read like one that will be a simple win for either player. That’s why we’re backing the over on the games.
Badosa to win a set vs Sabalenka @ 1/1
In a similar vein, we’re adding a bet which you can combine with the above one. Badosa, as we said, has played really solid tennis with her forehand doing tremendous work since the start of the event.
That’s exactly the type of game you need to play to give Sabalenka any kind of problems. You can’t sit back and wait; you have to attack, and we think that the forehand should be enough to carry Badosa to at least one set.
She’s done it before and she knows Sabalenka really well, as they’re close friends, which is just a bonus.
Badosa handicap +5.5 games vs Sabalenka @ 3/6
We’re going to once again double down on backing Badosa to do well in this matchup. Notice how we didn’t pick her to win the match. It’s because we don’t think she will be able to do that, but we do think that she’ll keep it quite close.
It’s a semi-final. It’s not going to be easy for Sabalenka, as good as she has been at this event in the past. Badosa knows her well, she knows how to plan around her style of play, and has been playing really well herself.
There is no pressure on Badosa here as she’s the total outsider, and we think that will help her as she’s slated to keep this rather close.
