Best Australian Open betting tips for day 10
Djokovic to win a set vs Alcaraz @ 3/6
Novak Djokovic has always produced his best Grand Slam tennis in Melbourne. Even this year, his level in Melbourne looks to be quite a bit better than anything he produced in 2024, bar the Olympics.
That should give him some confidence that he can beat Carlos Alcaraz when they meet in the quarter-finals. It still remains a rather unlikely scenario, however, because Alcaraz himself has found a really good level too the past week. Still, with the Spaniard being as heavily favoured as he is, there is some good value in backing Djokovic.
The Serbian is very likely to win at least a set, considering he’s beaten Alcaraz in three of the last four matches they played. Surely in Melbourne, a healthy and well-motivated Djokovic will win a set.
Zverev vs Paul over 34.5 games @ 3/6
This doesn’t read like a very simple match and we would be shocked if it is one-sided.
Tommy Paul has a devastating game when it works, and it seems to be working well so far this year. If the American keeps it going, he can definitely give Alexander Zverev some problems as the German is quite susceptible to dropping the odd set here and there.
Overall, we don’t really think either is likely to win in straight sets so we’re going to back the over on the games. Both holding serve as well as they have should contribute to this bet hitting, possibly in even three sets let alone four.
Gauff vs Badosa over 18.5 games @ 3/6
Similar to the match above, this one also reads like a very competitive one. Paula Badosa and Coco Gauff generally play close and competitive matches, so there is no reason to believe that this won’t be the same way.
The line is not that big and it can be cleared even in straight sets, let alone three sets. Both of the matches they played last year were in three sets, so unless Badosa collapses in an epic manner, this one should be rather competitive as well.
Either way, the odds are generous for a very low line, so back the over market here.
