IT wasn't quite as good as Wednesday but Thursday was still profitable with Lyon leading the way.
I took a big risk on the French at 13-8, although they drifted to 15-8, away to Astra but they managed to win 1-0 and exit on away goals.
My Top Treble flopped and a third goal in the Hull-Lokeren beat the goals treble but I put plenty of other winners including Harry Kane at 4-1 to score first for Spurs.
We've got a tough week out of the way and move on to a fairly quiet Friday before the madness and mayhem of the weekend.

I personally don’t play Immobile for the loss vs Leverkusen, I mean he can’t help a 9-second goal and the service to him was strangely dire.

Ian I would say level stakes is the most important rule but don’t just for accumulators as the odds are landing them go up compared to doing singles, doubles and trebles etc. I personally bet big on ingles then similar on doubles and trebles and any time I do anything bigger

Ianfitz, single bets at level stakes in my opinion is the way to go. There is nothing wrong with doing a double or treble if the bets you like are odds on, but don’t increase your stake.

Dortmund are undefeated in their last 6 away games, winning 5 and in the Bundesliga have a record of won 4, drawn 2, lost 0 vs Ausburg. Furthermore Dortmund have scored at least twice in their last 5 away games.
Just looking at the MLS reserve game kicking off in 15 minutes. Last four H2H, Orlando City have scored two or more goals against Wilmington. Orlando City have scored two or more in each of their last five games. Might be worth having a look at Orlando over 1.5 goals in play.
Also 4/5 of Orlando’s last games has seen over 4.5, with 3/4 H2H being over 3.5, 4.5 and 6.5 respectively. Should see goals here. In play in 8 minutes. Check the goal line.

kym, brilliant advice as simply backing goals markets is the one way to profit long term.
Alty, up to and including last night, 1 tip from 3 and not acceptable, every bet I have tipped since 1st of this month would show a profit of £24.12 to a £1 level stake. Some people I advise bet with £100 level stake unless advised so they are £2412.00 ahead from 1st to 28th of August. I have had 1 losing month since January 2013. Only way you will lose on these is if you ignore level stakes advice. If I say a bet is a big bet then up to 10 times a level stake can be bet. I have advised approx 8 big bets on this site and only a Salzburg BTTS failed to land. This is not a boast as I only learnt to bet correctly after losing for over 3 decades.

Alty. Research never hurt anybody. Flash Scores and Soccerway are the two stat sites I use mostly. Cooldude is right about the tipsters to follow. But there are also others who post good write ups and best EVERY day that win. If you see a bet you like, always have a look for yourself first.

Cooldude, i definitely need a stategy and to learn money management as everytime i have money in my account i have one bad day and blow the lot plus what i have in the bank. I got paid at midnight today and already half has gone. It seems like most of the time everyone wins on here and i end up losing somehow. What would you suggest? Alty adam, its probably best to take a look on soccer punter before you bet anyone’s tip this way you can decide if the stats add up for the particular bet. Dont just dive in and I for one was a bugger for that.
Its really up to you who you decide to follow as we all know the successful tipsters on the site and as for the amounts you bet each time Mr F advises never bet more then 10% of your bankroll as far as I know.

All you need is some patience and some research. I don’t usually follow a tip @ 9/4 or 3/1 in my case. But I knew Waterhouse were good and overpriced. Plus quite frankly I haven’t seen much of Jordan but I like him, so I jumped on, and we’ll, a good night all of a sudden :D.

Valencia v Malaga
The Friday night game on sky comes from the Mestalla,
and with the rugby being on I will be on a Valencia and St Helens double. It should be remembered this is the only the second game of the La Liga season.
Valencia at home have seen plenty of goals with 12 out the last 15 going over 2.5g. Valencia have also won their last 5 home meetings against Malaga. In those 5 matches they scored 13 goals. In recent fixtures Malaga have scored just once in three recent meetings. Malaga also had two players sent off in their season opener (Antunas and Duda) and given their poor record at Valencia, I can see a home win.
Valencia have conceded in their last seven home league games and it is evens for both teams to score at Boylesport. However given Malaga poor record in this fixture, I may visit this market in the later. I am adding Valencia to my main fancy in the rugby tomorrow.
St Helens are getting a 6pt start in the rugby on the handicap at Skybet and I think they can stay within this. I will post a game preview later but for now I’m on the double which pays just over 9/5 at Skybet.

Just seen the price for sheff wed @ home to Florist, 15/8. Apart from the 3-3 draw last season, the previous 3 were all 1-0’s to Florist. Having seen Sheff Wed ( quite a physical team) and its a relative local derby, 5/1 for sheff wed to win and under 2.5 total goals is sooooo tempting, especially since I expect Florist to start getting a nosebleed. Home advantage will play a big part in this game. Hillsborough is a big ground and i’d like to think it will be near on sold out.

Alty – i”ve only in recent years been able to honestly say i’ve made a profit. The name of the game for me with football is to stick with the top teams in the top european leagues and look for trends to follow. For example real madrid home games see goals scored in the last few mins on a regular basis. On monday it was 1-0 and i simply backed over 1.5 goals on 85 mins at 11/5. Ronaldo duly obliged with a 90th minute goal. I”n never gonna win huge on this bet but based on stats it”s a nice steady profit.

Dundalk’s home record speaks for itself and although they haven’t been as prolific of late think they should still score two against an average Bohemians. In the Helsingoborg game the home side have scored in 10 of their last 11 whilst the away side have scored in 14 of their last 16 with 5 of last 7 H2H btts coming in. The single for btts is worth considering at 4/6 too.
I am also taking a close look at Czech First League where Ceske Budejovice are priced at 10/3 to win away to Visocina Jihlava who are odds on to win. Now the bookies may know something I don’t (probably do) but the home side have lost 5 of 5 and although Ceske are not a great deal better I fancy them DC at 19/20 at least. Supposedly yesterday the basic wages were paid at the 11th hour intervention of a major shareholder. Staff bonuses were not paid however. Also Rangers allegedly have not paid the VAT bill for this years season ticket sales.
All correct Al and even if the share issue is successful it will only tide them over until around November. Club is being bled dry from top to bottom but as an East Coast football fan I can only look on with pride, we saved our club, they killed theirs ;)

Steph, level stake means you put the same amount on every bet regardless of the odds
Steph, Yesevil is spot on. Look at how much you can afford to bet with, a betting bank, and say for instance it is £100 then only bet £10 for every bet no matter what the price. That means if you land say 6 from 10 at around even money you are in profit. It also means a small losing run does not wipe you out.
Yerevil, level stakes doesn’t necessary mean you put the same amount on each bet because you should actually reduce the stake for higher odds which have less chance of winning. When I say level stakes what I mean is don’t lump on and don’t exceed your daily limit from your betting bank which everyone should have.
Austrian lower leagues. In the Erste Liga, rock bottom Hartberg are away to FAC Wien. Although only one place above them in the league, Wien have 6 points from their 7 games having won 1 and drawn 3. Hartberg have only 1 point and have conceded 21 goals whilst scoring only once! Although only 11/20, the home win looks a good bet.

J my profit is based on everything outwith horse racing. For horse racing this month every tip posted shows a profit of £26.10 but in racing I have landed winners at 16/1, 14/1 etc which you will not do in football. I no longer post horse racing tips on the site due to a ‘difference of opinion’ ;) Football and Boxing are my main sports and will always generate monthly profit if you stick to level stakes and back sensibly with plenty research.

martin, I don’t think that’s a realistic aim. What you’re saying is you want to at least double your fiver every day of the month – that’s never going to happen. It’s easier when you have a bigger sum (but only bet what you can afford) and bet on smaller prices. For example £20 on a 1-2 shot would give you £10 profit a day. All won’t win but the odds are in your favour.

Dundalk squeezed past Galway in the FAI Cup last week but they rested a key chunk of their team in Cherrie, Boyle, Byrne and Hoban. They all return this week for the home game against Bohs. To gauge how important these players are just look at their positions. Goalkeeper, Centre Back, Number 10, Striker and leading goalscorer. Even though Dundalk won by the single goal reports suggest that they won well despite missing that huge chunk of the spine of their team. A few weeks ago Stephen Kenny said that the matches will become battles now as they head towards their first league title in a long time. They have battled well rescuing points at Drogheda, Sligo and at home to Limerick. I would expect them to battle to a home win this evening.
Double them up with Galway who have an excellent chance to re-enforce their hold on the playoff spot in Divison 1. At home to a young and struggling Waterford Utd is an opportunity they won’t want to pass up and they also benefit from players returning after missing last week’s cup tie.

Niort like a lot of French sides are decent at home and I would expect then to score against a side who have conceded 8 goals in their last 4 matches and have claimed just 1 point for 12 available! But they have managed to score in their last 7 matches! There’s probably a case for BTTS here but j going to take a small stake on goals

Graeme, expensive learning process but I was lucky as some never recover from big losses mate. I have a few friends who back my stuff regularly and turn over more than £2,500 a month profit. They bet on nothing else other than what I advise simply because I have the time and know how to beat the bookies these days. Best of all is seeing some of the people on here admitting they are now betting to level stakes and not as erratically as before and are generating profits which had not happened previously. Forget about looking for the ‘buzz’ of finding a winner and concentrate on generating long term profits.
Raal to be honest since I found this site and started following your tips I have staked more in the last 4 months than I have done in my entire gambling life that spans back say 20 years. Don’t get me wrong I was not doing badly some how as I would sometimes bet once every few weeks and sometimes not at all for months. If I made a few hundred pounds on an acca I would withdraw it and not even look at a coupon again. I probably stepped it up a few notches since January this year. I was quite horrified to read some of the losses on here. I am fortunate that my make up allows me to walk away from gambling when I finally choose to draw the line. I just hope that it’s not after an almighty crash but that would not deter me! I should qualify the above and say that unless it is a big bet and even that comes with risk I do try and maintain level stakes. The large stakes for the big bets come from my disposal income. From time to time I go larger than level stakes on some bets but only when betting with the bookies money. It does help if you have more disposal income to burn and everything is relative to that. Part of me wants to walk away after Saturday but why do that when you are more up than down? I looked at one account only the other and it freaked me out how much I had in fact staked since May. The reason I am writing this is due to not having internet connection on my phone and don’t really wanted to access bookie sites form work :P
Alex, imagine a system that could virtually guarantee profit from betting without studying 10-14 hours a day or having to have massive amounts of money to gamble with? It exists, it is common sense, a bit of work and most of all discipline. I have proven my strike rate is good enough to beat the bookies, if I am making it up I have fooled thousands but still won them money.

alec, without doubt mate as it offers more potential for cover or cash out in many instances. BTTS around evens needs 6 from 10 wins to make a profit and even the 4 losers on average can see a small profit being made by covering etc probably twice out of 4.

A big game which I expect at least a goal. In the last 6 there has always been more than 1 goal in which 5 had 2 or more. BTTS come in 3/6 and over 2.5 come in 3/6 and I feel Wolves will definitely score in this having not previously scored at the Molineux way back in March. Blackburn have a strike force consisting of Varney, Rhodes and Gestede which is enough to convince me they will score.

One play I bet for today:
Augsburg v Borussia Dortmund o2.75 evens
I decided against laying the juice on over 2.5 and went for better odds on 2.75 for I game I handicap at 4.29.
It’s early to get statistical data of course but I use my player rating models baked into my spreadsheets to get probabilities and all of them give me 4 goals. With such a unanimous data run I am compelled to play this for 3 units.
There is some nice supporting data to back this up.
Over 2.5 is 14-5 in Augsburg’s last 19 home games (74%) and a very profitable 12-1 in Dortmund’s last 12 away games with 6 of those games going over 3.5. (54.5%)
Dortmund have scored 2 or more in 9 of their last 11 Away games, scoring at least once in 8 of their L10 away first halfs keeping 4 clean sheets in those games. Augsburg have failed to score in only two of their last 10 at home while keeping only two clean sheets.
It’s the head to head data that really strengthens my confidence in this play. These two teams have played some high scoring encounters. Their L6 H2H league meetings in the last 3 seasons have seen the over 2.5 go 5-1but even more noteworthy is that those 5 actually went OVER 3.5 goals (83%). (over 3.5 is 5-1 L6 H2H and 4-0 the last four)
Last season’s fixture at Augsburg finished 4-0 for Dortmund and two of the three fixtures at Augsburg the last 3 seasons saw Dortmund the victors twice, 4-0 as noted and 3-1 before that. The other match was a rare Bundesliga scoreless draw. Last season’s 4-0 win for Dortmund at Augsburg came in week one so one can’t argue early season rust here.
At 0-1 Dortmund cannot afford another slip up or they can fall out of the race early if Bayern continues their domestic form. Look for Dortmund to attack fast and quick. Augsburg too will want to win after a week 1 slip up so I expect a cracking match.

I’ve read a few post about one of us thats lost a packet on betting. I speak from personal experience on this one and this advice I give you is really about taking a step back.
Nobody on this site realises this because i’ve never told anyone, but I have been diagnosed with extreme post traumatic stress dissorder, i’ve had it over 3 years and i suffer very badly with it. I’m not posting this on here for tea and sympathy, but to make you aware of one element of my suffering that few people realise.
Its the loss of interest and elation at doing something that ordinarily I would enjoy.
I turned £10 into £6000 in 3 weeks 14 months ago by taking big risks and betting on games that I had no knowledge about in the small hours, I found myself betting on shite like basketball and baseball. At one point I had it up to £6600 but lumped £600 on something to take me to £7k and i got burned on it. I was so knocked back that I actually lost that it never registered with me that I had actually stopped enjoying the thrill of betting/predicting.
I bailed out on £6000 when my mum pointed out I had £6k and what I could do with it.
It got to the point for me that it made no difference whether i bet a quid and won a quid, or bet £500 and won £500, the feeling was the same – there wasn’t any.
So I took a step back. I limit myself to no more than £20 a week. If i spend it on 2x £10 doubles or singles and win, i carry on, if it loses, i don’t bet again until i can pay myself my £20 pin money. If it wins, i take a step back. I don’t rush anymore to throw it on the next game, I stick to what i know ( in my case the english championship ).
If you start with £10, you do your own homework ( team news/current form/new superstar signings/current players misbehaving ( Leeds-lee bowyers a few years back ), you’ll find one bet that stands out from the rest.
Theres about a 50/50 split on here of people guessing and getting lucky and people who put the time in to find out what theyre betting on ).
The more groundwork you do on your selections, the better your chances, home win singles are safer than most bets, maybe only bet on the saturday league fixtures. Look at people recommendations AFTER you have narrowed down your own shortlist and compare. Fans know their own teams better than anyone else too.
If your shotlist is similar to what people on here are tipping, then i’d say you are headed in the right direction.
If you play in-play and theres a full fixture, occassionally you’ll spot a home team 2-0 up playing against 10 men and the odds are 1/10. Drop a little on that.
Don’t chase your losses, set yourself say a realistic target of £50 in the pot, when you reach it, send your original stake back to your bank. Never drop all your dosh on one selection unless you are absolutely certain of a favourable outcome. as your pot grows, don’t increase your stake, set a limit of maybe £10 maximum.
Acca’s are dangerous but fun, if you must have a 4/5/6/7 etc acca, limit it to a quid, the chances are, your “banker” will let you down, but its only a quid.
It is entirely possible by choosing tiny odds and staying disciplined to turn a £10 into £10k, but do it slowly and stick to what you know.
I hope that you reconnect with some success but for your own sake, keep your feet on the ground.

Tommy, in my opinion Falkirk and Queen of the South are the best sides in our league after us and Rangers. Falkirk are a decent side but Hearts are really playing well at present and tomorrows game is another sell out. Will not be easy but I cannot see us failing to win mate.
Raal, sounds good mate. I’ll take your wise words on the game as I’m thinking both league favourites (Hearts and Man City), at home, with no notable injuries/suspensions, playing weaker teams in the division looks a decent enough bet at evens.
And it’s been good and really helpful to see the advice from you and others on the site who have spoken about past losses to try and help others stay away from a dangerous path.
I’m a pretty tight guy myself, bets are usually a few quid here and there, so I can’t see myself getting into any sort of trouble at all, but it’s always beneficial to have a solid reminder of how it can all turn south if ill-discipline creeps in.

*NIMES – ARLES BTTS @2.00: despite Nimes’ surprising 0-0 last week, both Nimes (7/6) and Arles (3/5) are good for goals. Moreover it’s a derby (neither team will want to lose) and HSH suggests goals as well.

Jack id disagree with that opinion, when Torres signed for Chelsea he was on fire and scoring regularly and most fans welcomed the signing and exoected big tjings. Personally I think Chelsea was the wrong club for him and their system didnt suit his style of play. Much like Forlan at Man Utd, he flopped there but was a huge success both in Spain and international level with Uruguay

As a Liverpool fan Torres was never the same since his World Cup injury he most certainly was not on fire he spent his last 6 months with us wandering around the pitch with no purpose other than to move on. The fee we got was absurd for a player who would never hit those heights again. Unfortunately we invested lots in to Carroll but the suarez one makes up for that :-)

You will win it back Capone and never make that mistake again, happens a lot trying to quickly calculate cover bets. Try writing down potential scenarios before hand that may offer cover, wont know the prices, but the bets will be there in black and white to use if needed.

Think I have a good value tip for tomorrow – Chelsea are 2.20 on Bet365 against Everton who have let leads slip with Leicester and Arsenal. I think Chelsea will have too much for them and even though forward options are limited as Chelsea are sweating on Costa, Chelsea have enough class in midfield to get a goal or even a goal from a defender from a corner. Good luck if you follow this tip.

Question….with btts bets do bookies get onto you cashing out before both teams score? As in if you do it more than a couple times a day making profit each time?
Liam, every single account is monitored and if anyone tells you differently they are talking bullsh*t mate. Any edge you may develop will quickly be closed down or taken away. They will still allow you to cash out but for shorter intervals and occasionally for less amounts if they see you regularly doing it. The best way to cover any bet is by betting with one bookie and covering with another. Bookmakers have zero morals and will happily see you on the street if it generates profit for them.

Liam, I could tell you many stories of how they operate. My cousins wife is reasonably high up in a major Irish bookmakers. What goes on is a disgrace and every single person who operates on line is being conned left right and centre simply to lure you in.
