Carrow Road, Sunday, 12pm

IF Sunderland can win at Chelsea anything can happen in football – maybe Liverpool will be crowned champions after an absence of 24 years.

Last week I tentatively tipped Liverpool to beat Man City and said it would be the day we discovered if Brendan Rodgers's side could all the way.

I was right about the Man City result but wrong about that being the day. April 19 is the day Reds fans may remember as the one they won the title thanks to their own misfit striker Fabio Borini who notched Sunderland's stunning winner at Stamford Bridge.

So after drawing with Man City and beating Chelsea it's Sunderland who Liverpool will owe a massive debt if they complete the job.

Victory against Norwich on Sunday will put the Reds five points clear of Chelsea at the top and take the pressure off the home side ahead of next weekend's top-two clash at Anfield.

Rodgers v Jose Mourinho next week should be a fascinating battle but you have to fancy Liverpool the way they've taken apart top sides at home.

If Sunderland can win at Chelsea then Norwich can beat Liverpool – and boy do they need the result. The Canaries have brought in new boss Neil Adams but with matches to follow against Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal he has little chance of saving their skins.

Liverpool have won their last five away games – scoring at least two goals in each of them – so I'm backing them confidently at 2-5 with Ladbrokes.

It's a short price so consider Liverpool/Liverpool HT/FT at 19-20 with BetVictor and Liverpool in the race to three goals at 11-10 with Ladbrokes.

It's difficult to overlook Luis Suarez for first goal at 11-4 with Paddy Power due to his incredible scoring record against the Canaries. He has netted 11 times in five meetings including three hat-tricks and I believe he has a John Ruddy tattoo on his arm.

Daniel Sturridge is out – as is Jordan Henderson – and they will be missed but that lends more weight to Suarez scoring.

Of course there will be nerves in the Liverpool camp with the title almost within touching distance but the Sunderland result must have given Rodgers and co a huge lift and I don't see them slipping up.

Suarez to score first
(11-4, Paddy Power)

Paddypower has enhanced offer in suraez to score and win at mouth watering 3/1. Without the offer, the wincast is 10/11.

Suarez is 9/4 with Skybet to score first, 2/1 to score a brace, 8/1 to score a hat trick and 40/1 to score 4 or more.

Worth a wee stake on the latter I think

    Gents.
Please remember this does not change the fact that if Chelsea beat Liverpool, Liverpool may not / won’t win league. However fully believe Liverpool will do so just don’t bet to large at short price.

Liverpool -1 evens at lads for me. Very confident.

Ant, it’s out of Chelsea’s hands at the moment even if they win at Anfield. Liverpool win at Norwich and they are five clear with three to play.

I’ve got a feeling it’s not going to be the straight forward Liverpool result everyone expecting. Staying clear of this and enjoying the drama I reckon.

    Good luck everyone

I think Liverpool will win but not by the silly margins they have historically against us.

Our boys will be fighting for their lives – but with the need of a goal we’ll probably leave gaps that Liverpool will capitalise on.

    Mr F

I understand, but before today’s game Liverpool needed a draw against Chelsea to win the league or it’s not in Liverpools hands. This situation has not changed.

Liverpool still need to draw or the league is not in their hands. Nothing has changed.

Ant, you’re missing something – the situation has changed big style. Liverpool can lose to Chelsea and still finish above them. Man City will have a slim chance but only if Chelsea win at Anfield.

If Chelsea beat Liverpool, Man City can win the league with 5 wins which is possible as they have WBA (h), Villa (h), Palace (a), West Ham (h) and Everton away. Got to fancy Liverpool against Norwich, Palace and Newcastle though.

Paul C, it’s what I said yesterday but if Liverpool win today I can see Chelsea resting players ahead of their second leg with Atletico.

I think plus one Norwich is worth a punt. I had plus one west ham a few weeks ago and was only beaten by the fact the ref made a blunder.

Even though I couldn’t care less who. Wins the league I feel sorry for Chelsea. Liverpool seem to be getting the decisions there way last few weeks. Liverpool pen at west ham. Skrtl hand ball in last min for man city to equalize.

I think when u see wrong doing u want it to be put fair so a dive from snood grass in the last min would maybe serve as karma returning to haunt Liverpool

Before the season started liverpool were 33-1 to win the league. Wish i had a tenner on it. I think they will win today 3-1 and beat chelski next wk. The hardest game will be be palace on the monday nite game. Been told that tickets are selling for 1500-2000 pound for that game. 3-1 at 10-1. Bet365.

The enhanced offer at paddy power is online. Not tried it in shops.

I wouldn’t try to use this offer twice with same username. Some bookies are notorious in insisting that the bet is incorrect even if the system accepted it.

NHL fan here, but Liverpool, Aalborg, and Ajax look not bad at all and it pays 3.45. I think it’s worth a shot.
