ARSENAL need to beat Liverpool at the Emirates to keep the Premier League title race alive.

The Gunners can take advantage of Man United's FA Cup semi-final appointment at Wembley to close the gap at the top of the table to four points.

If Arsenal then go on and win their game in hand at Spurs a week on Tuesday that deficit could be down to just a single point which would leave everything still to play for ahead of their May 1 showdown with Man Utd at the Emirates.

However, history suggests it could be a draw with five out of the last seven meetings between the sides ending in stalemate. The other two were one-goal Gunners triumphs last season.

Liverpool produced one of their best displays of the season against Man City on Monday with Andy Carroll netting a double. He and Robin van Persie will be the hitmen to watch and after my success on the both teams to score markets over the weekend I'm tipping that up at 4-5 with William Hill.

Arsenal are a biggest 3-4 with Chandler and Blue Square with Liverpool 4-1 with the likes of Chandler and Ladbrokes. The draw is 14-5 with Chandler.

Recommendation

  • Both teams to score (4-5, William Hill)
