Last 7 runs on the National have produced an amazing stat but not for a horse but a jockey,Paul Maloney has ridden a horse to place in last 7 years:
    2009 State Of Play (4th) @ 14/1 sp

    2010 State Of Play (3rd); @ 16/1 sp

    2011 State Of Play (4th); @ 28/1 sp

    2012 Cappa Bleu (4th), @ 16/1 sp

    2013 Cappa Bleu (2nd); @ 12/1 sp

    2014 Alvarado (4th) @ 33/1 sp

    2015 Alvarado (4th) @ 20/1 sp
Anyone Fancy an 8th place ???
Paul Maloney rides BUYWISE @ 40/1

    1 silviniaco conti 12-1
    2 unioniste 33-1
    3 the druids nephew 16-1
    4 gallant Oscar 16-1
    5 holywell 14-1

    • elvis parsley 3 years ago

Unioniste came 2nd to many clouds last time receiving 4 lb and beaten 10 lengths.
      Today he receives 16 lb.
Last year he fell when carrying 12 lb more at odds of 16-1, today he is 33-1 carrying 12lb less.
Has won at the course twice before, softer conditions will suit, the softer the better, and will be staying on, on the 2nd circuit.
Looking back over the last year or so he has been giving lumps of weight away so don’t be put off by his form figures.

This will be my main pick in the race each way, but it’s only small stakes as this race is really not for the regular punters.

      • elvis parsley 3 years ago

Never back horses to win this race myself but Silviniaco conti is the strongest pick to win for a good while for me IF HE STAYS, and that is the only reason I won’t back him to win. If he stays he wins for me.
Each way you double your dough if he comes in top 5 at 12-1.
The class horse in this field.
None of these would win a king george, Silviniaco has won it twice.
His is 10, which isn’t too old.

JohnB, which horse can swim fastest? It’s has rained most of the night around here

    • Johnb 3 years ago

Still fancy all three in the order advised, there was 7mm of rain last night so not affecting the ground too much, soft, good/soft in places

  33. finchy 3 years ago

Cheers rookie, only saw your tip about a minute before the race , wanted to throw 25 quid on a horse on skybet! I also just managed to get Yorkhill @ 100/30. Skybet changed the odds and I managed to throw 25 on before they changed back. Expect to be cancelled but one can hope!

  34. ray_ez 3 years ago

Nina C rides Sir Des champs ☺
    Brian Hughes out

  35. ray_ez 3 years ago

Deary me. Think Yorkhill should be made to run backwards next time. Last minute Forecast to start with though.

  36. duncanpoundcake 3 years ago

Thanks Lads ,Well done Rookie ,I’m already a winner ,wife paid for Lunch .They did indeed Dougie another struggle today.

  37. stubhoy 3 years ago

What an utter joke !! 40 Runners ,30 Fences , and 2 Circuits and here we have the bookies at their very best offering up a poxy 8/1 fav ! Big deal . Only a few will score today but 99% of bookies will be fleeing with bulging satchels They should really rename this The Grand Payday in honour of the enemy. Mind you I suppose they were battered at Chelts last month so swings and roundabouts. Good luck everyone with your selections.

  38. denman 3 years ago

My Saturday Outsider April 9th bet 2

    Saint Are @ 18/1 bet365 1pt e/w

“Saint Are…..from Tom George yard the 10yo not have much more time running in National was 2nd last year to Many Clouds beaten 1.75 lengths he’s 2lb better off this time which could make the difference , with yard and jockey having big winners this week the yard may be flying , jockey Paddy Brennan in saddle

    2/4/16 Bet 1 Farlow @ 25/1 e/w ( lost ) – 2pts Prominent, ridden to lead briefly over 2f out, weakened final furlong

Couldn’t be happier for Mouse Morris

    • Johnb 3 years ago

Although only second I have to say I can’t fault The Last Samuri, he ran his heart out and according to Kim Bailey he wouldn’t go a yard in the ground, I knew he would but just found one too good and again great for Mouse Morris with two National winners in two weeks

      • thehawk 3 years ago

Well thanks to bet365 easiest days profit I have ever had done every horse in national 1.50 ew cost 120 but they refunded 60 so for 60 pound I had 1.50 ew on every runner had winner at 66/1 and bonus of 3rd at 100/1 and 5 places too keep up the great offers bet365 :)

  52. Johnb 3 years ago

I mentioned a while ago about a film worth watching
The Dark Horse is on more4 at 6:35pm

The story of a working class syndicate horse who was bred by one of the syndicate members, brought up on an allotment and cost the syndicate members £10 a week
It’s a great story about Dream Alliance

  53. ray_ez 3 years ago

Thanks to boz. Doubled my money with an ew lucky 15.
Well done and unlucky to jb. Didn’t back last samurai. Ew odds were to small. Ended up with nothing from the national. It’s my first one with any sort of research and thoroughly enjoyed it, despite being delayed by half an hour due to the in laws rocking up with 2 to jump. ? kids come first I suppose. Might let them pick for me next year. Onward. Well done winners

  54. Johnb 3 years ago

2.4 point profit today, little unlucky with Ode To Evening who was Infront a stride before the line and Infront a stride after the line but not where it matters, that’s racing
The Last Samuri was also 2nd but the double stake horse won
    April 3.6 points down

Hats off to Mouse Morris of Rule the Worlds last 5 runs4 of them were in races won by other Gigginstown horses ,to get the horse qualified on a winning mark and have the b@11@cks to put a 19yo up ,a great piece of training.
