SEMI-FINALS are usually cagey but Saturday's Hibs v Aberdeen tie was anything but – and later we saw even more action in the Chelsea-Spurs FA Cup semi-final.
Early goals always help of course and Aberdeen were in front after 12 seconds. It's probably my quickest first-scorer winner as I tipped Adam Rooney at 4-1.
I also recommended Aberdeen to win after 90 minutes at 21-20 and Aberdeen and both to score at 3-1.
The other semi-final of course has caught all the attention as Pedro Caixinha makes his Old Firm dugout debut in the Hampden clash.
Celtic have beaten Rangers three times but were held last time out with Caixinha watching from the stand just after being appointed boss.
That 1-1 draw will give the Ibrox side hope of causing an upset – they are 6-1 (from 7-1) at McBookie to win and 4-1 with Paddy Power to reach the Final.
Gers fans remind me I've tipped Celtic four times this season so I got one wrong. On paper Brendan Rodgers has the better team and if they turn up they should win.
Celtic are a bit short at 4-6 with bet365 to win in 90 minutes so consider both to score at 17-20 with Betway – three out of four this season have gone that way.
Kenny Miller's been in good form for Caixinha and is 33-10 at 888sport to score while Scott Sinclair is Celtic's best bet at evens with Betfred.
Rangers are 16-1 with mcBookie to beat Celtic on penalties – just like they did last year.
Willie Collum is the man in the middle but as I said on Thursday ahead of Genk v Celta Vigo he's been slower to flash his cards recently. Collum has only shown red in one match this year out of 17 he's reffed – that was Motherwell v Rangers in January when two were sent off.
In two games recently he hasn't shown any yellows at all – that won't happen at Hampden though and is a 50-1 chance at bet365. Bookies of course expect tempers to be frayed in this game and anything is possible but bet365's 13-8 on a red to be shown is extremely short while the card points total is set at over 6.5 which again is high.
If you can predict the first player to be booked the prices are better. Clint Hill hasn't made the starting line-up for Rangers so consider battling centre-forward Joe Garner.
Celtic skipper Scott Brown is only playing because his appeal against last week's red card at Ross County hasn't been heard yet. He will be well backed at 10-1 with bet365 for first card. He's just 4-1 at William Hill.
Bets to Consider
Both to score
Celtic & both to score
Sinclair to score
Brown first card
Garner first card
Aberdeen v Celtic final (pending)
I expect them to launch the ball into the Celtic box at every opportunity so Rangers over 4.5 team corners 1/1, GL.
