The French Open 2024 has progressed to the women's singles quarterfinals, with just four players left competing for a spot in the semifinals. Day 11 promises intense action as Aryna Sabalenka faces off against Mirra Andreeva, setting the stage for thrilling encounters at Roland Garros.
17-year-old Andreeva continues to dominate the tournament with her remarkable gameplay. The Russian will set a new career-high WTA global ranking of 30 after reaching the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros in only her second attempt. In doing so, she surpassed her impressive breakthrough run to the round of 16 at Wimbledon last summer.
Andreeva defeated Varvara Gracheva in straight sets on Monday to continue her French Open campaign. She dropped only one set in a late-night majestic win against former world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka in the second round.
Sabalenka has looked excellent since her arrival in Paris and has yet to lose a set.
She has been strong on both wings, but her serve is particularly impressive. She has also worked on using drop shots more on the slow surface, which has paid off thus far. Sabalenka encountered Emma Navarro in the fourth round and rapidly took charge of the match.

Andreeva, on the other hand, won 6-2, 6-3 over Emina Bektas in the first round. She survived a nail-biting second-round match against two-time Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka, winning 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. She went back to her dominating best in the third round, defeating Peyton Stearns 6-2, 6-1.
Andreeva's win-loss record this year is 12-7, with a 65.8 percent first-serve win rate.
