FOR the second successive season the European Tour returns to The Dutch golf course for the KLM Open.
Opened in 2011 the Colin Montgomerie-designed track received many plaudits last year. The undulating landscape with its link-style gorse and rolling fairways were standout features.
Although not long there’s plenty of water water, thick rough around the greens and long grass that welcomes errant tee shots. So GIR and Putts Per GIR could be important stats.
David Horsey has had three top-10 finishes this season with a second at the Made in Denmark a month ago. He finished 30th at Crans last week but considering he has missed the cut four times in his last six appearances it was a respectable position.
He’s a tidy player and finished T4 here last year when his putting was good (4th in putting per GIR). He had GIR stats of 72.2% at Crans last week. His game looks good at the moment and if he can keep the form from the last two weeks he will certainly be there orthere abouts.
GIR: 65.71% (140th) Putts per GIR: 1.756 (37th)
