DIDN'T know whether to crack open the bubbly on Tuesday night or settle for a can of Tennent's.
It was one of those nights when you feel a bit flat despite a decent win on the both teams to score market.
I was a bit wary of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy ties so my main bet was a fourfold on both teams to score.
And lo and behold 27 out of the 28 teams in action scored. The only one to fail was Scunthorpe and luckily their game wasn't one I selected. How embarrassing would that have been!
My games were Dagenham v Southend, Wimbledon v Stevenage, Morecambe v Preston and Gillingham v Barnet and the fourfold paid a respectable £62.88 to a tenner with Ladbrokes.
However, I'm sure many of you picked up a lot more by adding in a few extra games and that leaves me with the nagging doubt: Should I have been a bit greedier?
Anyway a win's always sweet and it's a shame there are only two games to look at on Wednesday as I aim to add to the winnings.
And after what happened on Tuesday I'm going for two doubles – both teams to score at Crewe v Macclesfield and Charlton v Brentford and over 2.5 goals in the games.
Both to score at Crewe pays a biggest 4-6 at bodog and Paddy Power and at Charlton it's
8-11 with Betfred and bet365. Over 2.5 goals is 5-6 with Ladbrokes on both games.
Anything goes in these matches as you saw on Tuesday with the likes of Bradford knocking out Huddersfield.
But as far as the results go I'd side with Crewe at 11-10 with the likes of William Hill and Ladbrokes as they usually have decent kids coming through and plenty of reserves will be given a chance.
The game is unlikely to be high on Charlton's list of priorities so consider Brentford at 10-3 with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power.
Recommendations
Crewe/Charlton both teams to score double
Crewe/Charlton over 2.5 goals double
Brentford
(10-3, Ladbrokes and Paddy Power)
Cheers for the both teams to score tip last night Paul….nice return. See what you mean tho….was thinking at the time they were all banging them in!!
Guy, I’ve just heard Coral paid out more than £1million on the market so that shows how popular it has become.
My heart bleeds for them Paul ;-))
Yes indeed. Just put up a post about Coral after hearing some horror stories about punters trying to get paid out. One story I can’t repeat but I’ll be letting Coral bosses know about it. Ladbrokes also getting it in the neck for trying not to pay out on the Accrington abandoned game.
Ha ha Brentford 3-0- tenner on.
Great pick
Thanks Tony. Looked worth a go.
