IT'S ALMOST 48 hours since the brand new version of MrFixitsTips launched and I'm amazed at the response it has received in such a short space of time, especially given some of the teething problems we've experienced.
I thought I'd write a brief note to cover a few queries and provide a few more pointers to help you get the most out of the new site.
But before I do I'd like to thank all of you who have signed up so far. At the time of writing more than 750 people had become members (and this morning it went through the 1000 barrier) – a staggering number and way beyond what myself and the team were expecting. It's the community that makes the site a success so keep on getting involved, keep commenting, keep tipping and keep bashing the bookies.
Such a response hasn't come without a price however. We've had to upgrade our servers to cope with the demand already and we envisage some more upgrades may be required before the weekend. This has resulted in some downtime for the site, which hasn't been ideal but has been essential, so apologies if you've experienced the site being offline the last few days and a huge thanks for your patience – I don't think one person has complained, well not to me anyway!
Additionally we've been hit with two other issues. Firstly, some people who have subscribed to the site have experienced some problems when signing up. I won't go into the technical details but it has left a few people unable to log in. My technical guy has now fixed the situation and Admin have been assisting those affected to access the site. If you're experiencing this issue please email [email protected] and they'll be happy to help you too.
Secondly, some of those affected may have tried to contact me via the Contact page but we have discovered it was not configured correctly which meant no queries have reached us from that form. We have removed the form for now but again if you need to contact me or Admin about any issues relating to the site or your Account please do so directly at [email protected].
On to the good stuff …
It's great to see people starting to find their way round the site. It's much vaster than the previous one and even I'm still finding my feet with what should go where in terms of tips and comments.
My tips will still be available on the Blog, and your comments are welcome there, however as the site grows and things get busier expect more of the discussion to happen in the Forums where you guys can set the agenda and start your own threads. So for example, while my Top Tips will be on the blog you might want to chat in-depth about a certain match on the forum.
Of course there's also members only features in the Forums too such as my Betting Club which got off to a winning start tonight. Hopefully I can keep the winners coming to bank some funds by the end of the week. As explained today Bet 1 of the week will always be on the blog but all remaining bets will be strictly for Annual (Gold) Members Only in the Forum.
I'm also pleased to have made “friends” with loads of members already. It's a great feature that means you can follow people and what they've been up to on the site a whole lot easier. So don't be shy to ask people to “friend” you.
The clubs look like they'll be a slow burner. If you've not joined one yet check them out here. They're designed to give you somewhere to chat with like-minded people about something other than betting. Of course there's a Clydebank Fans Club, but us Bankies are few and far between, so if you want to come and chat about the best team in Scotland with me just join the club.
Finally, some people have been asking about the £10 free bet from Coral. This is available to ALL Annual (Gold) Members. Details are included in your welcome email, however some of those seem to have been lost in the ether too! It's pretty simple though, if you don't already have a Coral account, just open an account at Coral (<Use this link) then email [email protected] with your username. Free bets will be issued after 7 days and within 28 days.
Once again welcome to all the new members and thanks for your patience as we settle in to our new home at MrFixitsTips.
Hi MrF, I know you’ve probably had this requested of you a gazillion times already in the past, but if you wouldn’t mind, new site and all that, could you post your “rules/strategy” for bankroll management again.
Cheers in advance.
David Campbell, I’ve actually written a piece to go on the forum. Admin were going to posted it somewhere – I’ll find out where.
Cheers big man
Mr F – have thanked them by email but just want to make my thanks to your admin team personal. I managed to cock up registering and somehow have paid 3 times!!! While great for you, I thought I should keep the money in my account for the next couple of years. I emailed your admin team who rectified it within minutes and have refunded me already, Got an email reply which I assumed, due to the speed of reply, was an automated one to say my email had been received, but it was your guys sorting the issue. Really impressed and just another reason why this is the best betting site on the internet. Thanks to you and admin again
Jacksonator, good to hear. The admin team are top notch and been working hard to launch the site and look after things.
Did I read that mr F that once you sign up to the gold membership only “new coral customers” will be given a free £10 bet? What about those who already have an account with them?
Liam Logan, as I said yesterday the £10 free bet for Gold members is for everyone whether you are a new or existing Coral customer.
Nowhere have we said new Coral customers only.
If you join and already have an account you will be credited a tenner.
Site looks great, been busy so not been on much since launch but first thing I did was get me membership
Sean Mccready, it’s been a hectic spell – probably just as well it’s quiet football wise.
