Nearly a third of the way through the League One season and multiple unexpected players have thrown their hat in the ring to be the league's top scorer. Many would not have expected a 21-year-old loanee to be the current joint top bagsman, but Stockport County's Louie Barry has done exactly that.
The striker has seen his early season odds greatly reduced to his excellent form. However, many more of the division's best players are still vying for the top spot. Peterborough's Kwame Poku, Wycombe's Richard Kone and Birmingham City's Jay Stansfield are all names that are still firmly in the running.

Current favourites
Jay Stansfield – 4/1
The League One record signing has five goals this season, and is already a further five away from chart-toppers Kwame Poku and Louie Barry. However, with 12 Championship goals for a relegated Birmingham side last season, it would be a mistake to say that he does not possess the required quality to claw back his current deficit.
Birmingham are second in the table, only behind Wycombe, and Stansfield has become a nailed on starter ever since his initial loan move from Fulham. With plenty of time still to go, expect Stansfield to stake his claim on top spot very soon.
Louie Barry – 9/2
This season's surprise package, Aston Villa striker Louie Barry has been on fire while on loan at Stockport County. The Englishman has been in sensational form, scoring 10 goals in 15 appearances, while also ranking in the top percentile for almost all shooting statistics.
Barry registers an incredible 0.59 xGOT per 90 minutes played, and takes an average of 3.55 shots per game, so should be incredibly likely to continue his scoring spree. Backing him now would be the best choice considering Stockport's rise to sixth in the table.
Kwame Poku – 6/1
Another shock this season has been the incredible improvement from Peterborough's Ghanaian winger, Kwame Poku. 11 goals in the entirety of last season, Poku has already bagged 10 times this campaign and sits joint top with Barry in the scoring charts. This is even more impressive when considering that Peterborough sit 12th in the table, having only won six out of 15 games.
Poku's quality is also shown through his combined goals and assists. 15 in total, he is four ahead of nearest competitor Barry on 11. If Poku continues his form he may well be unstoppable, so banking on him now at 6/1 could be the best choice.
Richard Kone – 10/1
Not to be forgotten about, Wycombe's Richard Kone has already amassed eight goals this season for the table-topping Chairboys. The 21-year-old Ivorian has been another standout youngster from the current League One season, and with Wycombe's meteoric rise up the table, he does not seem like stopping any time soon.
Kone has only started 10 of Wycombe's 14 games, which makes his tally all the more imposing. However, with Poku and Barry also firing on all cylinders, he remains an outside pick at 10/1.
