Best tennis tips and predictions today
Our first tip is that Bu Yunchaokete will beat Adrian Mannarino in Moselle, while our other prediction is Hamad Medjedovic to beat Aleksandar Kovacevic on his home soil in Belgrade.
Yunchaokete to defeat Mannarino @ 5/6
This is a very interesting matchup between Mannarino, who is an excellent indoor player, and the Chinese player who has dominated on the ATP Challenger Tour so far. With Mannarino being at home, why are we backing the Chinese player?
We simply think he’ll be more motivated to finish off the season on a high note and he’s generally performed pretty well on courts like the one in Metz. It’s a bit on the slow side, you need some power in your shots and Mannarino never had much power. If there’s anyone on the ATP Tour who specialises in fast courts, it’s the Frenchman, so the lack of pace here should hurt him.
Bu also has the better serve. We think this will matter, so overall it makes a lot of sense to back the upset here. The odds are certainly a bonus as well, with some handy value on offer at bookmaker Betfred.
Medjedovic to defeat Kovacevic @ 3/6
These might be reasonably low odds, but we still think it’s worth a bet simply because Medjedovic should win here. The young Serbian impressed in his first round match and while Kovacevic has been equally good, the former is on home soil.
He seems to be motivated, the crowd is into it, and his family is there. He could make a good deep run as he’s a supremely talented player but quite raw and very inconsistent.
Being in familiar circumstances should help him ease into it a little bit and he certainly has more potential than Kovacevic, who is okay but pretty limited. Outside of the serve, there isn’t much there so expect Medjedovic to win this one.
