It was pleasing to end the month with a nice priced winner, unfortunately, it wasn't of much use given a NR and two unplaced but it did return a profit which is hard enough in this bet type.

With only one day left in September, hopefully we can get a decent return to blast away the deficit, it's unlikely but the stats read well enough which I'll post tomorrow.

Attacanter Racing Tips

Zarabanda 9/2 – 15.35 Hamilton

This is a competitive affair but I will dip my toes in with one short enough in the market representing the punter's friend David O'Meara.

Zarabanda ended last year contesting Listed races, they persisted with that for what seems far too long given she has struggled to beat a rival but there were signs of life last time back in Class 3 company.

The two in behind both won next time whilst those ahead have shown enough to conclude the race was half decent. If a return here sparks her interest she could have an impact based on that effort.

The two ahead of her in the market today both won last time which cuts a chunk of value off this horse but I am quite hopeful. She last won here almost a year to the day, back on that mark now upped a furlong, we take our chance.

Nelson Gay 15/2 – 19.30 Wolverhampton

Nelson Gay was a C&D 2nd two starts back 6 weeks ago, today's favourite Aces Wild was three quarters of a length behind and is now 2lbs worse off.

My selection was held up, got the perfect split and just wasn't good enough despite keeping his head down and plugging on showing a nice enough attitude. Stable jockey Conor Beasley takes over today and that is certainly a positive, the yard isn't red hot but have two winners since Wednesday.

The horse won over C&D last September from lbs higher, he returned in the Winter finishing 6/7, 2/8 & 3/8. He's contested much better races than this and can certainly outrun his price on what he's shown.

Red Cloud 11/2 five places – 17.05 Windsor

Gary Moore sent out a couple of winners to his local Epsom on Sunday and given similar conditions are expected at Windsor, I am happy to take a chance on one of his who hasn't finished out of the top two since gaining a rating.

I was trying to make a case for another but I am going to hopefully be rewarded for playing it safe given we are vying for favouritism. I have had a single priced selection from this yard drift to a mega price, I doubt my timing is as off this time.

The horse is hit by a 6lb rise for winning last time on the artificial surface at Lingfield. That was a 5 length success having finished 2nd over today's C&D before that when beating Innisfree Pearl by 1.25 lengths, I fear form could be reversed today with a 5lb swing against us but on yard form, I'll chance him having discounted a few rivals.

Faro De San Juan 10/1 four places – 16.30 Windsor

I am taking a chance Windsor passes inspection, I've gone for a horse who started his career in France, he has been hit on miss on a soft surface but two places in big field is enough for me to take the risk.

Dylan Cunha has garnered a fair amount of respect since coming over from South Africa which is really pleasing to see, the more talented trainer's the better this sport will be.

Rossa Ryan was on this horse when it last won, he rides for a regular respected employer Clive Cox, his lightly raced runner having won on heavy as a 2yo. My selection has placed in big fields on testing ground but has shown his best on much better ground. The sire is Almanzor, a French mud lover who reassures any concerns.

This is a level above the horse's win, he is 1lb above that and the price is likely indicative of his chances on all known form, the horse win last summer off 82, now rated 76, there's reason enough to believe he can make the top four.

WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?

A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:

– 1 fourfold accumulator

– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections

– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination

– 4 singles

The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
