After making it back-to-back winners in Lisbon on Tuesday, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the MLS once again, and I’ve highlighted one fixture that appeals to me for goals.

The Philadelphia Union will look to keep their hopes of a playoff place in the Eastern Conference alive as they travel to the Yankee Stadium to take on New York City FC in the early hours of Thursday morning in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Nick Cushing’s hosts have scored 41 goals across their opening 28 matches in the MLS this term, with 27 (66%) of them coming on home soil.
The Pigeons have made the net bulge in all bar one of their opening 13 MLS encounters in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in 10 (77%) of them, including in nine of their last 10 – and will look to add to their impressive goal-tally at home to a Philadelphia defence that has recorded only three clean sheets on their travels this season, shipping two or more goals in seven of their last 10.
Long-standing Philadelphia head coach Jim Curtin has seen his side score 48 goals across their opening 28 contests in the MLS this campaign, with an impressive 27 (56%) of them coming on their travels.
The Union have found the back of the net in all bar one of their opening 14 road trips – striking on multiple occasions in 10 of their last 13 – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring record on their travels against a Miami defence that’s recorded just three clean sheets across their previous 24 matches in the MLS.

The Philadelphia Union’s opening 14 MLS encounters on their travels this campaign have averaged an eye-catching 3.79 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking in 10 of their last 13 – and given the same has landed in five of NYCFC’s previous six MLS encounters on home soil – I’m happy to have a punt on there being a minimum of three strikes, with both of these sides contributing, a selection that has landed in each of their previous six meetings, including in the reverse fixture back in May.
