For today’s best tennis tips and predictions, we’re once again going to look at the WTA event in Guadalajara. Both matches on Wednesday feature some very experienced tennis players, and we’re going to back experience over youth in one of them, so keep reading to find out.
Best tennis tips and predictions today
In the first match, we’re picking Kamilla Rakhimova to upset Victoria Azarenka, while in the other, we’re backing Danielle Collins to get back to her winning ways.
Rakhimova to defeat Azarenka @ 11/4
As you can see from the odds, Rakhimova is not the favoured side in this matchup for obvious reasons. Victoria Azarenka might not be at her best anymore, but she’s still one of the better players on Tour.
On top of that, she has tremendous experience, knowing exactly how to win a match against any tennis player. She’s seen every playstyle imaginable and rarely doesn’t know how to adjust according to her opponent.
We’re still going to back Rakhimova to win simply because she’s been in amazing form lately, and beating Azarenka shouldn’t be impossible. Rakhimova has been in Guadalajara for over a week.
She played here last week, won the event, and has just been really solid in recent weeks. Azarenka has been decent enough, but with the very specific conditions in the city (high altitude), there might be some struggling here.
We could see Rakhimova using her form and the conditions to her advantage and winning this one in a battle. She’s generally a player who doesn’t surrender matches easily, and in a long battle, could prevail.
Collins vs Gadecki over 19.5 games @ 5/6
Danielle Collins has had some amazing performances this year, and while she has smashed opponents in past months, hasn’t played at that level in a while. She’s also getting closer to officially retiring, so how much motivation is there left?
She’s facing a player who has been able to find some form lately. Gadecki was in action last week in Guadalajara and did pretty well, so she’ll be rather well-prepared for this matchup.
The conditions won’t be a surprise for her, while Collins might struggle in her first match here. Overall, it’s just a matchup that seems to scream problematic for Collins, who hasn’t looked that sharp in a while.
Her US Open was a dreadful performance, and she might be slowly mailing it in when it comes to her career. Maybe the practices are less intense, but the level hasn’t been the same.
Gadecki looks quite motivated, and she’ll certainly be eager for victory here. The last time they faced each other was in Austin earlier this year, and it wasn’t a beatdown in any case. Collins did win, but she won 7-5, 6-3, and we could see something similar.
We think it will actually go three sets, but even if it goes in two, there is a decent chance that the over happens. There is really solid value in backing this tip, which is why we pulled the trigger.
