BSC Young Boys and Galatasaray both graced the Champions League group stage last term but only one of them will make it this season after they were put on a collision course in the play-offs.
These sides had almost identical European campaigns last year as they finished third in the Champions League section then fell at the first hurdle after dropping down to the Europa League.
They will be desperate to take a seat at Europe's top table again and the stakes are probably higher for the Turks as they bid to service a massive wage bill.
Galatasaray have kicked off the new domestic season with two successive 2-1 victories and that form stands in stark contrast to BSC Young Boys who have yet to claim a win in five Swiss fixtures.
But manager Patrick Rahmen will be hoping a big European night under the lights at the Stadion Wankdorf can rouse his players back to life as they chase a big victory.
How the bookies view it: Struggling Young Boys rank outsiders
With BSC Young Boys in such dismal form, Betfred make them outsiders at 11/4 but those odds seem pretty generous for a home European game. Galatasaray are just 9/10 for a win in Switzerland while the draw pays 13/5.
Head to head: Turks on a Swiss roll
These sides have never faced off before but Galatasaray have an excellent record against sides from Switzerland. They've won 11 of their 17 games against Swiss side and lost just four.
Players to watch: In-form Ganvoula worth a punt at 4/1
While his team have made a poor start to the season, the same can't be said of Silvere Ganvoula, who has netted three times in four games. He's 4/1 for anytime scorer with Bet365 and that looks overpriced.
Galatasaray have a host of big names in their side and former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech has signed a permanent deal after last year's loan spell. He always carries a threat and is 5/2 with Betfred for anytime scorer.
Probable line-ups
Lukasz Lakomy, Kastriot Imeri, Saidy Janko and Facient Conte are set to miss out for BSC Young Boys while former Spurs stopper Davinson Sanchez is on the sidelines with an injury for Galatasaray.
BSC Young Boys: Von Ballmoos, Hadjam, Zoukrou, Husic, Blum, Ugrinic, Colley, Chaiwa, Lauper, Males, Ganvoula.
Galatasaray: Muslera, Dubois, Ayhan, Nelsson, Bardakci, Akturkoglu, Mertens. Ziyech, Torreira, Yilmaz, Icardi.
Anything else catch the eye?
Both these teams have been scoring and conceding so far this season so it bodes well for a decent game. Over 2.5 goals pays just 4/6 with Betfred but combining that with BTTS in a bet builder boosts the odds to 10/11.
Turkish teams are traditionally poor travellers but Galatasaray bucked that trend last term, winning on the road against Ljubljana, Molde and Manchester United. They scored three times in each of those matches so over 1.5 away goals stands a chance in this game at 4/5.
The half-time draw has come up in the last two games for BSC Young Boys and looks good again here at 5/4 as the teams size each other up.
