Sassuolo go in search of their first win since October as they host Lazio in a Serie A fixture on Sunday. Lazio have also not been at their best since the restart but will be confident of getting the better of a Sassuolo side that have problems all over the pitch.
Sassuolo are coming off a 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina in their previous Serie A fixture. They appeared to be holding on for a point in Florence following Domenico Berardi second half equaliser but conceded the winner in added time.
That result means Sassuolo are now winless in their last six Serie A matches, suffering five defeats in that run. Alessio Dionisi’s men have been on a steady decline down the table and are now 16th, seven points off the relegation places.
One positive for Sassuolo is that they have looked a bit more fluid in attack since the return of Domenico Berardi. However, things are still the same at the other end of the pitch as they are without a clean sheet in their last nine Serie A matches.
Lazio head into Sunday’s clash off the back of a 2-2 draw with Empoli in their previous Serie A fixture. They raced to a two goal lead thanks to Felipe Anderson and Mattia Zaccagni but were unable to hold out for the win.
Like their hosts, Lazio are also seeking a turnaround in fortunes as that result means they are now winless in their last three matches. While manager Maurizio Sarri will be pleased to have at least stopped the run of defeats, the continuous defensive problems remain worrisome as they have now conceded seven goals in their last three Serie A matches.
One positive for Lazio is that they have claimed some good results on their travels this season and will be keen for a repeat of those performances. Among their wins on the road this season is a 4-0 victory at Fiorentina while they also edged out Roma 1-0 in the derby.

Players to watch
Domenico Berardi’s return from injury has boosted the Sassuolo attack and he will be the one to watch on Sunday. The forward has found the net in his last two matches and is priced at 13/5 by Paddy Power to maintain his scoring run.
As always Ciro Immobile will be the one to watch for Lazio as he looks to add to his seven Serie A goals this season. The striker also has four goals in his last four away matches in Serie A and is priced at 6/5 with William Hill to find the net on Sunday.
Anything else catch the eye?
Sassuolo and Lazio have struggled defensively lately and given the quality in their attacks, goals can be expected on Sunday. The capital club saw over 3.5 goals in their previous fixture and a repeat is priced at 2/1 with Unibet.
Over 2.5 goals can also be considered at 4/5 with bet365 while William Hill is offering 4/6 on both teams to score.
