As like a lot of recent selections where there's only been one for the day, they have become NR's on the morning of the race. Unfortunate for that to happen, but it is what it is and it can't be helped. Hopefully, today's two selections will run, and will run well.
Catterick 2:10
A three runner race, and a selection who is a short priced favourite, but it's clear as day the chances he has based on his form shown from Doncaster in December of last year. GET YOUR OWN looks tailor made for this trip, and even though he didn't win over his first attempt over 3m, he still ran with plenty of credit and it suggested a win over fences isn't too far away.
This race is competitive for all that there is three runners, but I get the impression that his current handicap mark of 119 is low and he could become at least 10lbs better than what the handicapper has him currently rated. Like I mentioned before, the form of the Doncaster race has started to work out well. The 2nd, 3rd and 8th have all won since, with a couple of respectable runs from other horses in this form.
Alex Hales doesn't send many to this track, previously winning 2/10 in the last five years. Which is a good indicator or his chances, similarly do his price, but he is one for your multiples/accas.
Catterick 3:40
It could be worth sticking with the lightly raced BIG BAD BUZZ in this contest. He was subject of a decent gamble last time out at Leicester, where he appeared to get tired late on. When the money comes in for horses from small yards like Ryan Potter's it should be noted, which is why I'm prepared to give this lad another chance. That run was on the back of a wind surgery, and it is quite common that it takes a run to see the full effect of a wind surgery, plus the fact he might've needed the run, points in the direction of a big run. I don't think he ran a particularly bad race last time out. He is currently around 3/1 – 4/1, but I would potentially expect a drift, before being backed in again before the off, so the best time to get involved might be the morning of the race.
