Thursdays Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the newly formed Conference League and there’s two games that stand out for me for goals.

BK Häcken vs Aberdeen

🇪🇺 UEFA Europa Conference League

⏰ Thursday 29th July, 17:30

Aberdeen travel to Göteborg to take on Häcken at the Bravida Arena. Aberdeen will be confident of completing the job after winning the first leg 5-1.

After their heavy defeat in Scotland last Thursday, Häcken drew 1-1 at home to Elfsborg in the Allsvenskan. That extended their run of scoring in their last 12 games in all competitions with them last failing to score on the first game of the season. Both teams to score has banked in all 6 of Häcken’s home games this season.

Aberdeen don’t kick off their domestic season until Sunday as they host Dundee United. Aberdeen fans would’ve been delighted to see their team not only win last time out but to hit the Swedish side for five. After hitting their opponents for five last time out, they’ll be confident of finding the back of the net once more.

Tallinna FC Levadia vs Dundalk

🇪🇺 UEFA Europa Conference League

⏰ Thursday 29th July, 17:30

Dundalk travel to Tallinn to take on Levadia at the Le Coq Arena. This tie is still in the balance after a 2-2 draw in Dundalk last week.

Levadia were not in domestic action at the weekend so will be fresh for the second leg. Domestically, Levadia certainly know where the back of the net is at home scoring 27 goals in their nine home games. However they did conceded in seven those games conceding 16 goals. In the previous round they defeated St Joseph’s 4-2 on aggregate with the home leg finishing 3-1.

Dundalk were in cup action eventually knocking out 2nd tier Treaty United 0-1. In their 20 domestic games this season, Dundalk have only kept four clean sheets. They do, however, usually find the back of the net scoring in 18 of those games, including all 10 away from home.

Bet of the Day

Between them, both games saw a combined total of 10 goals with both sides scoring in both. With Häcken needing to go for it, we could see another open game like the first leg. Meanwhile with the other game in the balance, both sides know they have to go for it.
