Ralph Beckett's top weight scored readily here over a mile but is bred to stay middle distances. Kabuto had Space Kid a length adrift in third when chasing home Ladywood here last month and makes a quick reappearance after registering a well-beaten second to Realist at Chelmsford City two days ago.

Sad to see Richard Johnson retire on Saturday, how many winners would he have got if Mccoy hadn’t dominated with pipe down the years, mind you 3800 winners not a bad haul and glad he hung around to win the jockeys championship.
His win on native river in the 2018 gold cup will never leave me, probable in the top 3 best races I’ve seen, 2 horses neck and neck the whole way round and so glad he won that battle.
Testament to a great jockey and a thoroughly decent bloke that he chose a Hobbs horse to bow out on as Hobbs has been loyal to johnson for a long time.

Good write up Elvis👍, Johnson was runner up to McCoy 16 times in champion jockey, I’m glad he won it in later years, his hard work did pay off in the end!
Am surprised Elvis he didnt wait until Aintree and possibly go out after Native River.
You can see at his age why hes going his main stable seem to be in a sharp decline and hes not getting any younger.
Great to see him retiring on his terms though fit & healthy 👏👏
