QUICK WAVE (2.50) looked a dour stayer when scoring by eight lengths at Catterick a fortnight ago and can defy a 7lb rise in the Edinburgh Gin Chase at muddy Kelso.
Venetia Williams could have an improving mare on her hands and Quick Wave is preferred to Sandy Thomson’s Duc De Grissay, so unfortunate to fall at the last when disputing the lead in the Scottish Borders National here in early December. To rub salt in the wound, the assessor has raised him 8lb.
MALPAS (1.20) wins a tentative vote to land a highly competitive novices’ hurdle. Donald McCain’s gelding was all set to open his account at Catterick only to tumble at the final flight. He faces strong opposition from Dan Skelton’s Rockstar Ronnie, a beaten favourite at Wetherby, and Olly Murphy’s Wincanton winner Fabrique En France. Keith Dalgleish adds further interest by fielding useful Alright Sunshine.
Nick Alexander’s course and distance winner ARTIC MANN (2.20) looks sure to go close in the 2m 6f handicap hurdle. The seven-year-old was sent off 7-4 favourite but could manage only a staying-on third to Quest For Life at Musselburgh four weeks ago. This longer trip can see him in a better light. Oliver’s Island is on a hat-trick and remains at the foot of the weights, while Kaproyale is relatively unexposed for Olly Murphy.
Alright sunshine 1-20 kelso 3-1.
If he has schooled well could outclass these.
Captain morgs 3-12 fakenham 10-11
Too short to be a NAP but Needs to win to take up his appointment in the ballymore at Cheltenham.
Elvis mail 3-50 kelso 4-1 win and 6-4 top 2 finish
Tough task under top weight and 4th in a better race last time behind the useful cheddleton.
Has to give heartbreak kid over a stone hence the top 2 bet.
Course form here reads well 4-1-3-1-1.

Lol you can’t win them all not even you sir. There is a reason it’s so hard to pick a winner as a lot of money can be won very fast and also lost in the same breath . Had a good day myself yesterday with fran norton nothing to do with the horses but when I first started betting he won me some nice money and just thought he’s due a good night as you see quite often with jockeys confidence breeds success and success breeds confidence .Always bet on second fav ha .
Nice one Elvis.
I thought I’d posted my USA trixie but obviously not??
