CAPTAIN MOIRETTE (1.50) was an impressive winner over hurdles last season but left the impression chasing was going to be his game.
Sue Smith introduced her grey to fences for the first time in public at Uttoxeter three weeks ago and Captain Moirette fared well until being outclassed by some speedy rivals, notably winner Summerville Boy. He is dropped in grade for this Beginners' Chase and Captain Moirette showed his liking for Catterick by scoring here over a shorter trip last February.
RED FORCE ONE (3.45) is the only four-year-old going to post for the 2m handicap hurdle at Ascot but he appears a progressive sort. Paul Nicholls sent him on a successful mission to Fakenham for his seasonal return and Red Force One stepped up when going down by a neck to Gumball here last month. The assessor has nudged him up 4lb but he still looks attractively treated.
The ground will be very testing at Ffos Las but top weight UNWIN VC (3.25) should handle conditions well enough to land the 2m 6f handicap hurdle. Robert Buckler's gelding won a Wincanton bumper on heavy and his comeback fourth to the 142-rated Paul Nicholls winner Cat Tiger at Exeter was a promising effort.
Aunt Helen 50/1 ew 7.45 Dundalk
Makes AW debut tonight and is related to an AW winner over 1m.
Drops down to 1m tonight have run over 12f so should be more suitable on breading.
Trainer has a very good strike rate at the track. 36% win rate.
At the odds worth a nibble but remember it is 50/1 afterall
BOL
From yesterday’s thread
Polly Douglas 16/1 5.15 Dundalk
Won this race last year from 4lbs higher. Also has a 10lb claimer onboard who won on Geological on weds and is 3 from 16 at the track so knows where the finishing line is.
Drawn out in the carpark but might not be such an inconvenience for a hold up horse but will need the gaps to appear.
At the odds worth an ew nibble
BOL
POLLY halved in price so BOL DC. beat the fav TY ROCK BY 2l’s and is 18lbs better off.
KEN SAMs has a decent 7lb claimer putting him in with a shout, he has decent form over 5f but hasnt been tried over it for a while so could upset us being 2lbs below his CD win back in Jan.
Blastofmagic won couple times over 5, and is 1lb below a CD win 8lbs below his CD 2nd.
all aboard Polly (Y)
jockey hit her only once then started hitting with 100 yards left, so could’ve been tried a bit more, rough draw as you said a good 2nd at least.
I’ll take the place database. As you say better draw could have been a different outcome
Onwards
as will I, soon as it drifted from live prices, a place was always more likely, the TO FINISH 2ND / 3RD market looks quite interesting BOL for Aunt Helen

Yeah nice shooting Elvis.
My comment/shouts didn’t post earlier but I was on Maria Madalena in the 1.20 at 5/2 which went odds on in running n looked good for the win only to go right of course quiet spectacularly but King Ragnar at 6/4 put his experience to good use there.
GL rest of the racing gents I’m having a wee nibble on DCs 5.15 Ew n that’s all she wrote.
The 6.45 has an interesting runner in Duke of Pilat who cost 340k and is bred from an American grade 3 winner who usually love the AW.
Also has an Irish Derby entry.
