PORTO beat me all ends up on Thursday with all of my other tips winning.
On recent form the Portuguese giants were surprising 2-0 losers at Feyenoord who had gone down to Rangers on matchday one and had been conceding freely on the domestic scene – but that's the Europa League for you.
Well done to all the winners on what looked a decent night with the likes of Greg and HullShaker doing the business as usual.
On Friday there are two UK games to look at – Alloa v Dundee United in Scotland and Birmingham v Middlesbrough south of the border.
Prolific striker Lawrence Shankland will be all the rage for first scorer after his Scotland call-up but the prices are a bit shocking. Shankland, unusually for a lower-league player, will join up with Steve Clarke's men next week after starting his Tannadice career with 15 goals after netting 34 in 41 for Ayr last season.
I tipped him for first scorer last week and he sealed his Scotland spot with a hat-trick against Morton. Tonight it's top v bottom in front of the cameras on a plastic pitch in miserable conditions so it might be as easy for Dundee United as the odds suggest.
Still I can't look past Shankland to score first at 12-5 with betfair. An alternative bet is Shankland to score in a United win at 11-10 with Paddy Power – just to net he is as short as 4-9 and no bigger than 8-13.
Big games on the Continent include Real Betis v Eibar, Hertha Berlin v Fortuna Dusseldorf and Amiens v Marseille.
There are the popular lower-league games in France and Holland and the usual suspects will post tips.
As is the norm at this time of the week I'm focused on Saturday's card and I've not had time to add other bets. However, I'm putting up a Super Single for Saturday as Swansea's price to beat Stoke at home looks too big.
