THANKS to Scott Allot for holding the fort in my absence and he put up a winning double in the Nations League on Friday.
I was away during a quiet spell so well done to everyone who found tips and posted winners.
Saturday's selections are again Scott's as I haven't had a chance to look at the fixtures and he's written up my Daily Record columns this week so hopefully he lands some winners on a tough card.
We have League One and Two games in England, a couple of league matches in Scotland plus the Irn-Bru Cup and internationals.
It's as unappetising a set of fixtures as the steak tartare I was presented with on a taster menu at a top French resturant earlier in the week. I felt just like Mr Bean!
Anyway it's back to reality for me and any punter wanting to tackle the card I'd advise small stakes.
Here are Scott's tips and most if not all will be reasoned on his separate previews.

Peterborough sunk my willy Wonka ticket last weekend. Didn’t they get hammered 3 nil at home?
Your being nice, it was actually 4-0 and Peterborough are a different animal away from home 🐅
Both **LOST** – Scunny goal short 👎Caps off a terrible day on the betting front
Agree with Kyle regarding goals at Scunny, but I’m taking a slightly different approach with my confidence lying predominantly with Harrogate. I’ll try and put a little meat on the bones with a write-up tomorrow, but this is where my pennies will be going.

**LOST** – Knew this would be an uphill struggle when the away side took a very early shock lead, that wasn’t the plan at all. Just so happen to be Second lowest scorers in the division away from home as well, can’t believe they’ve won that game 🙈
Goalscorers seem to be the way to go for me atm. Last night you had
Lukaku
Mitroglu
Arnautovic
Pukki all finding the net.
Tonight what about
Mhkitarian 4/6 to net v Gibraltar..
La galaxy v Houston dynamo
Is it too obvious to wait 10/20 mins and if no goals lump on over 2.5, both recent h2hs have seen both score and 4/5 goals respectively, anywhere around 4/6 and if no early goals then I’m jumping on 👍
Bugger!! Fell asleep and missed the chance to get the bet on 😂 Houston dynamo scored just as I logged on after 33 mins 🙄
I’m all over Lincoln to put Port Vale to the sword in 9.5 hrs time. Price is hovering a tad over evens with most bookies.
HI NATHANUTON
Any reason to lump on Lincoln? Thx.
@wanwirsiy sorry for the lack of info, I was asleep. It was a tough card but most weeks I’ve been following Lincoln’s form and its been a clear cut above the rest. I’ve just logged on and seen they battered the opposition 6-2, they also covered a corners component I had in a cheeky double. Just gutted I never opted for a -1 h/c, but a win is a win. Well worth keeping tabs on them in future, I think the bookies slipped up on the price this week. They seem destined for promotion.
Following. 1 nil up after a few mins.

*EXETER V SWINDON*
Exeter unbeaten in 6 and a fantastic home record. This team has great speed on the 2 wings and have been bombing in all sorts of crosses from the games I have watched and have attack after attack in mind when they go forward. Swindon on other hand are playing terrible and only decent win was their micky mouse checkatrade cup win midweek and havnt won in their last 3 in the league. Exeter to win and keep up the great home record and also only conceded 2 in the last 4 home league
Exeter to win 21/20 (bet365)

Salford, Billericay > 1.5 TGS Evens
GL all today!
A little write-up for the main elements of my two main fancies.
Harrogate:
A little like Fylde and Salford, Harrogate found themselves promoted into the National League from the NLN and have taken it in their absolute stride. They started the season fantastically, going unbeaten in their opening 11 games despite being newly-promoted. That included scoring 2,2,3,4,3 team goals in the home games of those 11 matches, and 2,1,2,0,3,2 in the 6 away games. That’s just one blank in 11 (on the road at the best defense in the league in Fylde) and 2+ goals scored in 9 of the 11.
Since then, they had a little reality check when facing two of the league’s better sides. A 0-3 home defeat to Leyton Orient was disappointing, but Harrogate missed a host of chances to at least score a consolation in that one. Then, they played out a cagey 0-0 draw with promotion hopefuls Wrexham. This very much went to form with Wrexham conceding just 8 in 15 games and just 12 goals being scored in their 7 aways.
Since then, Harrogate have resumed normal service when facing some of the sides near the middle of the table. They battered Boreham Wood 2-4 away from home, before comfortable winning 0-2 away at Ebbsfleet last weekend.
There’s probably no side they’d rather face up next than Dover at home. I backed Salford to smash 2+ past Dover well in advance last weekend and they managed to bag 4. That made for 5 consecutive games in which Dover had conceded two or more. Since then, they’ve lost 4-2 in midweek to Maidstone in the Kent Senior Cup – so, despite the change in manager, there doesn’t appear to be a change of fortunes at the club. With 2+ conceded against 6 of the 7 sides they’ve played away from home this year, I think Harrogate should make that 7 from 8.
——–
Chojniczanka v Drutex-Bytovia
I’ve had some success sticking to just one selection the last twice, and the original plan was to stick to the one main Harrogate based bet today. It is, however, this game in Poland that has tempted me to get stuck back in. For a few weeks now, I have shortlisted various games from the Poland top and 2nd tiers as being value for goals. Unsurprisingly, each have landed. This game perhaps looks the most promising of the lot, so I’ll be having some money down on this occasion and hope that the pattern continues.
These two sides come into this game haven seen BTTS land in 11/15 (Choj) and 12/14 (Drutex) games this season – including cups and mid-season friendlies. However, it is the respective home and away form that really appeals. Choj’s 7 home league games have seen 26 goals (16 scored, 10 conceded) and they have remained unbeaten in each. BTTS has landed in all 7, while BTTS and Overs landed in 6 of those.
On the flipside, Drutex-Bytovia have the joint-best points haul on the road so far this season, scoring 15 and conceding 9 in 7 away games. That has seen them score in every away game, with BTTS only failing to land in their 0-3 win at Garbarnia. Of note is that Garbania prop up the bottom of the table with the worst offensive record (9 goals in 13 games).
This game looks value to me and, at the prices, I think BTTS is the best way of approaching it.
Also on this in my 9-fold. Looks good value 👍
MAY be a reduced card but still plenty of games in the English leagues to focus on
Exeter v Swindon (7.45pm)
It’s been a great period for the home side as a run of 5 wins and two draws has catapulted them to 2nd in the league and they’ll be hoping cut the gap on league leaders Lincoln.
St James’s Park is a tough place to go and they don’t lose many games here – 10 of their last 15 games have seen both sides score and they welcome a Swindon side who are in decent enough shape. They’ve actually been impressive on the road, collecting 11 points but what stands out for me is their scoring exploits away from home,
They’ve found the net in an incredible 23 of their last 24 away matches in the league and as impressive as Exeter have been, they are far from solid pensively an I think we’ll see both sides contributing to goals here

*word of warning terrible weather conditions in Wales and south west England ( predicted) .
Summary:
Pompey have a good record on the road this season and also away days at AFC Wimbledon! Plymouth are slowly but surely improving as injury list reduces. They will fancy taking the points away at Oxford today, with the host low in confidence and shipping goals! Lincoln always worth backing and today’s opponents Vale have struggled generally thus far this campaign! Strongly fancy Colchester to win today by at least two goals but opted for the overs believing between the host and Crawley the goals tally should be enough! Rochdale have been hit for goals aplenty against top 6 sides this season, but Donny’s recent ‘blip’ should see both sides contributing to goals!
Don’t want to put a dampener on your bets boys and girls but here in the N West of England it’s been hammering down since last night and continues to do so. Lower league pitches usually can’t cope with such downpours. And I’ll be very surprised if Accrington have a game today as they are usually the first casualties. Hope I’m wrong.
It’s the same up here in the west of Scotland but only game I see that’s off is at Cheltenham.
Might be more fallers before kick-off.

Any thoughts on Netherlands v Germany later? 6/5 on Germany seems like a good price
I think it is difficult to make a good case for either team. Germany looks shaky and the situation Bayern Munich players doesn’t help. Netherlands are slowly improving and defence looks solid with Van Dijk and De Ligt in the centre. Netherlands will also set up defensively tonight. No bet for me
I think you are right, too many factors that can go either way

INDEPENDIENTE PETROLERO VS. JUVENTUD UNIDA (2030 KO):
Bolivian B action that catches my eye tonight and the chance of a few goals looks pretty damn good.
The hosts will be looking to make this 6 wins on the bounce to cement their place at the top of the table and they couldn’t wish for s better opposition than Juventud Unida.
The travelling side have conceded 21 in their opening 9 matches but more notably have conceded 4 and 5 goals in their last 2 games on the road although they have actually managed to score at least once in their 100% of their last 7 so that can only help the cause here.
September’s H2H 4 weeks ago saw 4 match goals and a 2-2 scoreline but with home advantage (a massive boon in Bolivia) the hosts will be looking to add to a growing goals tally which has already seen them score 23 times in 9 attempts:

Halifax v Chesterfield
Vanarama National League Kick off Saturday 13th October 17:15. Live on BT Sport
THE international break certainly bores plenty of punters, but, it has led to my team Chesterfield being one of the few on TV this weekend but, I don’t think this will be one to bring about much excitement to the neutral.
Where do I start about my club, as if 2 successive relegations wasn’t enough. We now lie just 2 points off the relegation zone to the conference north. When Manchester United fans think its bad at the moment they should try being a Chesterfield supporter! The fact that I am gutted that we aren’t playing in this weeks checkatrade trophy fixtures tells you everything. If you want to read more about the turmoil at the club on and off the pitch this article is a very good read.
The wretched mire of Chesterfield: A look at the most miserable team to support in England
So, in terms of the form of the two sides, neither are in good form. Chesterfield are 12 games without a win and Halifax are 8 without victory.
Chesterfields big problem is their lack of attacking threat. Former Celtic forward Marc Antoine Fortune leads the line for the spireites but he isn’t renowned for being a goalscorer. The fact that the team have only scored three goals in the last ten again makes for grim reading.
Halifax are more prolific but, still have only got 6 goals in their last 10 games. With both teams on poor runs I’d suspect the game will be a cagey affair. Against Fylde on Saturday I saw a small improvement with Chesterfield boss Martin Allen playing even more defensively and I suspect he’ll adopt similar tactics again. I Wouldn’t put people off backing Under 2.5 goals at 4/6 with bet365 and betfairs under 1.5 at 2/1 also could have a chance. We have had 10 out of our 15 games go under 2.5
Results wise I have no idea how a team on a 12 match winless streak can be favourites at 5/4! But, yes somehow Chesterfield are. Normally, I’d be tempted to back Halifax but I’m not sure if a team without a win in 8 is backable either.
If you look at recent results for both clubs Halifax have drawn 5 from the last 7 and Chesterfield 4 from 6 so 5/2 on the draw appeals and I’d advise smaller bets on the either 1-1 at 11/2 and 0-0 at 8/1 both at bet365 offer some value given both teams aren’t big scorers

Hi Mr F –
Hope you had a good break and the putting has been a dream on those French greens!
I’ve left a Brazilian treble up that’s been sittining for a little while in the back end of the site, but here it is again for those finding not a lot to get excited about on the main card this evening…
Following some cancellations in Argentina, I’m looking at Serie B tonight, and a quick reminder that the season-long stats with 80% of games now played for this league are 37% over and 63% under, so, we are looking to buy into the general trend of the league for less exciting matches. That said, the third of these picks is a positive goals bet, so, for goals-seekers, that’s potentially the one to follow!
Nevertheless, the first two are Unders!
Oeste v Fortaleza KO 8.30pm
A reminder, we’re looking at pointers towards an Under 2.5 goals bet.
Oeste are 3rd best for Unders with only 4 of their 15 homes registering as Over. They’ve scored 14 and conceded 11, so, they’re not goal crazy and they’re fairly careful at the back. Perfect for us.
Although two of their most recent five homes have been over, in those five games, they’ve scored a total of 3 and conceded a total of 4. That does not average out at a trend we should be worrying about.
Meanwhile, Fortaleza sit top of the league on the stats that matter for most – points scored from games played. But we don’t care about that! 😉 They’ve played 15 away and 6 are over and 9 under, so, we’re veering away from the obvious under picks – this is the 11th best side for away unders. However, their last three have all been under. Also, their last five aways show only 3 goals scored and 8 conceded.
So, they’re top of the league, but their last five aways have shown real jitters – four defeats and only one win.
Oeste with their 3 goals for at home don’t seem much of a threat, but they look tight at the back, conceding only 4. What do Fortaleza’s figures suggest? Certainly not all-out attack, but, rather, a defence in need of shoring up.
No H2H in recent seasons with Oeste home, though Oeste won 2-1 at Fortaleza earlier in the season. Not ideal, but nothing to put us off.
You have to go with what you see, and this does not look like two sides with attack in mind!
Under 2.5 goals is 3-5, bet365
. . .
Vila Nova v Boa KO 8.30pm
We’ll be looking again to explore Under 2.5 goals.
Vila Nova are the best-ranked home team in this league of 20 for Unders. 14 games played at home, and 11 have been U2.5 goals. They’ve scored 13 and conceded 6. (You’ll note, I’m writing these out, rather than setting them down as a set of dry figures, as sometimes the bland facts in a table are a bit of a turn-off!) Another way of putting it is only 21% of their home games have been over 2.5 goals.
Against that, you could note that two of those overs results occurred in their last four home games. Those were against Coritiba and Goias. Coritiba and Goias have both played 15 away and have aggregated goals (scored + conceded) of 37 and 47 respectively this season.
Tonight’s opponents for Vila Nova, Boa, have aggregated away goals – 7 scored + 20 conceded – of 27 after 15 aways.
More specifically, Boa are 2nd best away team for Unders in the league, with only 20% of their aways – 3 of 15 – over 2.5 goals. As noted, they’ve scored 7 and conceded 20. Again, two of those O2.5 games have been recent, one of them against Coritiba, but their overall for and against in their last five aways is F2 A6.
The expectation is not for Vila Nova to go goal crazy, or for Boa to start defending like a glass of water.
H2H for the last two seasons have two games last season, both 1-0 to Vila Nova, and the reverse fixture this season at Boa was 2-0 away to Vila Nova.
Under 2.5 goals is 4-9, bet365
. . .
Figueirense v Coritiba (KO 11pm)
You’ll be delighted to know we’re going to look at Both Teams To Score!
The stats are fairly clear…
Figueirense have landed 10 x BTS in 15 home games this season – 1st
Coritiba have landed 10 x BTS in 15 away games this season – 1st
In their last five home games, Figuerense have both scored (x7) and conceded (x9) in every single one.
In their last five games away, Coritiba have scored in four (x5) and conceded in four (x6)
Last season, Coritiba were in Serie A, while the season before that, Serie A was where you’d find Figueirense. This season, with Coritiba home it was 1-1. And in the two recent seasons they’ve been in the same league, every one of their four games has been a draw. So, if one scores…
I think that may be taking an idea for too long a walk, but, at the odds, I like BTTS here very much.
BTTS is Evens, bet365

RECOMMENDED TREBLE
Oeste v Fortaleza Under 2.5 matchgoals
Vila Nova v Boa Under 2.5 matchgoals
Figueirense v Coritiba BTS
That treble works out at just over 7-2, bet365
Good luck tonight, everybody!
Cheers, the course we played at Belle Dune was fantastic with fast greens. Dunkirk’s were OK but slower as was the pace of play unfortunately.

Nice one hull spot on mate
Well done hullshaker full house 👍
Cheers DC/Andrew 👍
That’s more like it – final score 4-2 and in all my years have never seen a game with a ‘shots count’ of 71….a much needed Full House 😀
Two selections to consider:

71 shots? Nothing unusual – I reckon I had that last week.
Seriously, well done with the bets.
*Your health is your wealth*
WON 2-0. Justified. ✅✅✅
Great winners yesterday. Let down by Harrogate, Salford and Leyton Orient. Could have been much better.
Early bird. New Zealand Premier is starting Auckland v Wellington. Worth a punt for goals. Anyone have any team news or inside knowledge?
Had 4 trebles. Landed one to make a small profit. The other 3 all had one team that let me down. Always seems to be the way. Unlucky selection. Could have had 3/4 trebles to be way in profit. National league let me down. Doncaster, Lincoln and Pompy should be my weekly bet
Finished 4-3. (2-2 ht) New Zealand finest are back and scoring. Hope someone was on overs. Worth keeping an eye on.
