Senegal v Colombia

Live on BBC One. Kick-off 3:00pm.

Colombia put in one one the most impressive displays in the Group Stages when they thumped Poland 3-0 but they still find themselves in 3rd place in Group H and needing another string performance against Senegal to book a place in the last 16.

Colombia were up against it versus Japan from the fourth minute when they were reduced to 10 men. They never receovered and lost the opener 2-1. But they responded brilliantly by comfortably seeing off the Poles and giving us a glimpse of the potential of their brilliant forward line. If they can reach those heights again they should be too good for Senegal.

However the Senegalese will be dangerous opponents and a draw would be good enough for them to progress to the knock-out stages. They're a powerful team, with no lack of skill, and the Colombians will need to match their physicality if they're to take all three points.

The form book hasn't been kind to Africa this tournament with none its representatives making it out of the groups. All but Peru have made it to the last 16 from South America. The bookies make Colombia 17/20 favourites to win this one; a little on the short side but Colombia were so impressive against Poland that I can't side with anything other than a win for José Pékerman's men.
