THEGLASGOWWARRIOR (3.00) returns to the scene of last month's victory at Newcastle and a 3lb rise is more than fair.
The form of the race has stood up well, with runner-up King Kevin winning twice and fourth horse Acker Bilk hosing up at Wolverhampton before acquitting himself with credit at Southwell on Tuesday.
Newcastle has been a happy hunting ground this winter for Jim Goldie, who has his string in top form.
HENPECKED (2.25) is well worth a decent each-way bet in the 1m 4f amateur riders' handicap.
She runs this track well and although Henpecked beat only one horse home behind Gallifrey last time, she was beaten just over three lengths. That was a much stronger contest than today's Class 6 affair and Alistair Whillans has booked a top amateur in James King.
Esspeegee seeks a four-timer and is the obvious favourite. Alan Bailey's runner will help make the market for Henpecked.
JOE'S SPIRIT (4.05) looks the answer to a trappy five-runner handicap.
Michael Bell's gelding chased home Rusper at Lingfield, and on a line through fourth horse Guvenor's Choice he has the edge over chief rival Jellmood.
Both Blue Harmony and Kikini Bamalaam race from out of the handicap, while Windsor Cross has three lengths to make up on Jelmood from his last run at Wolverhampton.
ARTFUL ROGUE (1.55) has his first run for Keith Dalgleish since leaving Amanda Perrett and the Carluke maestro has wasted no time in stepping him up to two miles.
A dual winner over 1m 4f at Kempton and Lingfield, Artful Rogue is just the type of horse Dalgleish does so well with up north.

i thought he would be backed off the board, but it looks like he is going the other way out to 5/1,i know johnb dont let the price influence him but with me it do i dont like to see a horse drift but hopefully he can win .i have just been told there is a big move for another one in the race hollywood all star was 33/1 now as low as 11/2 in some places
Hollywood all star not won for over 2 years, all 3 career win been in December on soft/heavy.
He ran in this race last year finishing 6 of 12 carrying 11-5, today he has 10-1.
This is what I don’t like about racing when a horse is backed heavily for no logical reason as its out of form.
Has the horse developed wings, grown a jet pack, or have connections been running him QUIET to have todays betting sting, if it wins that is.
Afternoon all. Well done yesterdays winners. My only runner yesterday made to many jumping errors and was dissapointing.

Hi all long time reader but don’t post often, just wanted to say that anyone with a skybet account just did a bet on Tangramm 19-00 Chelmsford but did it through the sporting life online went into jamie Maynard free tips and there’s a exclusive price boost from 7/2 to 11/2 I managed to get 11/2 on it even thou it’s about 9/4 currently . thought I’d let u know gl all
In regards to horses being backed out of nowhere, I find front runners are often shortened, then the average joe sees it winning for most of the race and feel as though they had a run for their money.
Going for 50p l15 on s amazing grazing 630 13/2, purely because B A Curtis is on and has been doing well, Makfaiki 7/1 at 1900, think there will be a decent prixed winner in that race assuming tangramm falls short, 1930 Spiritofmintaul 4/1 and black truffle 2/1 in the last, sw kelly has a few rides and is likely to go close in at least 1, hopefilly this one.

John and others what do you think of elarqam for the 1000 guineas. Was impressed last time I saw it run.
I advised Elarqam as a double stake strong bet on his second start at 5/2
He is one of my shortlisted horses for the 2000 Guineas but I need to see him to see how he has come through the winter
Below was my write up when he ran last time
Newmarket 3:45
Elarqam looks like he could be one of the better Frankel colts and is out of Attraction the double 1000 Guineas winner both here and Ireland. On debut he won by nearly four lengths and the two horses from that race “third & fourth” that have raced since have both won to frank the form. This is a big step up in class to a Group 3 but there is a massive amount of improvement in him. Elarqam is a genuine Group horse in the making and he ticks very nearly every box that a once raced horse can tick. The odds are shortening and it’s no surprise, he looks good physically, this is a very strong bet to start the Newmarket meeting.
