I ENJOYED reading the foreign tips we had on the site this weekend.
As well as Scott Alott's winners there was some advice from the unibet bloggers we are following.
Next up it's French tips from Julien Laurens who is a London-based sports correspondent for Le Parisien and a veritable French football expert. He writes in French and English for a number of esteemed publications and appears on BT Sport's European Football Show every Sunday as well as contributing to unibet.
Monaco v Marseille (8pm)
This is the first big clash of the Ligue 1 season as Marseille make the short trip to Monaco on Sunday evening. The two clubs and the two sets of fans really dislike each other and this is going to be a huge game. Monaco are at home where they have a great record recently against l’OM with four wins out of their last four encounters.
Psychologically, it could make a big difference for the French champions. Kylian Mbappé may or may not be involved once again as he is closing on a move to PSG. Leonardo Jardim should have all the rest of his squad available. Radamel Falcao is on fire with five goals in his first three league matches.
The captain is leading his team. Behind him the 4-4-2 formation is still working fine but the departures of Bernardo Silva, Tiemoué Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy, all sold this summer, have left a huge hole to fill. Monaco are still in transition, on and off the pitch but the players will be well up for this match.
Marseille played on Thursday evening at home against Domzale (3-0). They are through to the Europa League group stages but the manager, Rudi Garcia, had to play some of his key players in that game. So physically Marseille will not be as good and fresh as Monaco come Sunday.
Garcia also has some injury worries. Dimitri Payet missed out on the Europa League match and is a major doubt for this clash at Monaco. Lucas Ocampos is suspended while Clinton Njie is out injured. But Valère Germain and Florian Thauvin are in top form though. Marseille could play with a back five on Sunday. They were battered by Monaco twice last season and want their revenge.
