Best WTA Finals betting tips for day 5
While Aryna Sabalenka is through to the semi-finals, the Belarusian has reasons to fight hard, as money, pride and momentum is on the line. As for the other match, the winner moves on to the semi-finals, so there’s even more at stake in that one.
Sabalenka vs Rybakina – over 19.5 games @ 5/6
Aryna Sabalenka might have secured a spot in the semi-finals, but winning this match would keep her in the running for a major boost in terms of the prize money she could claim by winning the event.
That means she’ll play this series level even though it ultimately doesn’t matter much. Rybakina might be out of the running, but she can secure some points and money by winning as well, so she should make this a tight contest.
Rybakina has been somewhat of a tough matchup for Sabalenka in recent years. Their matchups generally end up being really close, so the over seems very natural here. Even though we might only see two sets, we think they’ll be somewhat close.
The match matters for both, so we should see a good battle and plenty of games.
Zheng vs Paolini – over 20.5 games @ 5/6
Similar to the first match, this one too will likely be a close contest. A spot in the semi-finals is at stake, so naturally this will be a very tense match for both players.
They recently played one such match at the Wuhan Open and it was a three-set match which went over this line.
We expect a similar thing here because that’s just the nature of this matchup. It’s pretty close, Paolini might have even played better than Zheng and could win this one but this is a safer pick.
Both women have the proclivity to fight to the very last point and have been involved in plenty of three-setters, and it feels that’s where this one is heading.
