It's men's semi-finals day at Flushing Meadows, and the New York crowd have two fantastic matches to look forward to.
First up is Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz in a battle between two generations, but the match we'll be focusing on today is Jannik Sinner vs Felix Auger-Aliassime.
The clash between Djokovic and Alcaraz will naturally take all the headlines, but the second of the two semi-finals, Jannik Sinner vs Felix Auger-Aliassime, also has the potential to be a New York classic.
We've had a successful couple of weeks with respect to our US Open tips. Can we finish off with more wins?
US Open day 13 tips: Sinner vs Auger-Aliassime
Set 1 over 1.5 breaks of serve (5/6)
The opening set of this match is absolutely huge for Felix Auger-Aliassime. If the Canadian is to pull off a shock victory, you feel he absolutely has to win the first set to prevent the world number one from getting away from him.
Both men have an identical record in first sets at the US Open this year, with both losing just one across their first five matches at the tournament. There have been eight breaks of serve across the last three opening sets Janiik Sinner has played, while there have been seven across Auger-Aliassime's last three.
The fact that both of their most recent matches are averaging over 2.5 first-set breaks, yet the offer on over 1.5 is close to evens, makes this a bet too good to turn down.
Felix Auger-Aliassime +2.5 sets (8/5)
Felix Auger-Aliassime has been producing the best tennis he has managed in several years over the past two weeks, and his odds for this match are frankly disrespectful.
The Canadian isn't playing more like the world number seven rather than 27, and his odds of 11/1 to win the match are far too long.
While we wouldn't advocate backing him to win, backing him to simply win a set at 8/5 is definitely worth a shot. Auger-Aliassime has not only taken sets off but beaten several elite players over the past fortnight, including world number three, Alexander Zverev, and world number eight, Alex de Minaur.
Yes, Sinner is better than both of those players, but he isn't unbeatable, especially in the context of a set. He dropped a set to Denis Shapovalov earlier in the tournament and would have lost to Grigor Dimitrov at Wimbledon but for injury.
What's more, Auger-Aliassime leads the H2H record 3-1, so he has form for causing Sinner problems.
Felix Auger-Aliassime over 10.5 aces (10/11)
One key area that Auger-Aliassime must excel in on Friday night is his serving. Not only does he need his first serve percentage ot be high, but he also needs as many cheap points as possible. Engaging in long rallies with Jannik Sinner rarely ends well for anyone on tour.
The good news for the Canadian is that his serve has been improving game by game. In the third round, he served ten aces against Zverev. He followed that up with 13 against Rublev before hammering down 22 against De Minaur.
The fact that he is trending upwards in respect to aces is good for him, and anyone who takes on this bet.
