Bosnia & Herzegovina vs Ukraine – Both Teams to Score
Ukraine travel to Zenica knowing they must defeat Bosnia and hope Finland don’t win against the current World champions France in Helsinki.
Ukraine are still unbeaten in qualifying but have remarkably drawn six of their seven qualifiers but know they can’t afford another draw here.
Bosnia’s hopes of making next years World Cup were ended by Finland last time out as they were defeated 1-3 by the Finns despite them playing a good chunk of the match a man light.
Both teams to score has landed in 12/14 of both sides combined qualifiers and with Ukraine needing to go for all three points, I can see this being an open encounter with both sides once again scoring.
Latvia to Score 2+
Little was expected of both Gibraltar and Latvia in Group G so it comes as no surprise both these occupy the bottom two positions.
It’s been a difficult campaign for Gibraltar as they’ve lost all nine of their qualifiers, conceding a whopping 40 goals.
Latvia have earned a few respectable draws in qualifying, including last time out as they managed to secure a 0-0 draw in Oslo to scupper Norway’s chances of qualifying.
Latvia secured their only win in qualifying in the reverse fixture as they defeated Gibraltar 3-1 and I expect them to get the better of them once more here.
Turkey to Score 2+
Turkey head to Podgorica knowing if they match or better Norway’s result in Rotterdam, they’ll secure a top two spot in Group G.
Turkey leapfrogged Norway on Saturday on goal difference as they thumped Gibraltar 6-0 in Istanbul and Norway drew at home to the Latvians.
Montenegro were ended in Oslo last month but they did come from two down late on to draw with the Dutch at the same venue as tonight’s game.
Turkey have scored 25 goals already in Group G, scoring 2+ in seven of them and with them knowing a win will guarantee at least second spot, I can see them bagging another brace against a Montenegro side with nothing to play for.
Holland to Score 2+
Holland failed to confirm their qualification for next years World Cup last time out as they threw away a two goal lead late on to draw with Montenegro.
They have a second chance in Rotterdam this evening and given they’ve a 100% at home in qualifying, they’ll be in confident mood here.
Norway threw away a golden chance on Saturday to take one step closer to their first World Cup since 1998 by drawing with lowly Latvia 0-0 in Oslo.
Holland have scored 18 goals in their four home qualifiers and I can see them adding that tally against a Norway side who’ll have to to open up at some point if they’ve any hopes of finishing in the top two.
