Tennis Prediction and Betting Tips 2024

We have more Monastir and Guadalajara action for you with two very interesting tennis betting tips this Thursday. Due to the Davis Cup and its tricky rules, we’re focusing on the WTA side of the sport, but there is plenty of value to be had here still. Today, we’re bringing you more of it.

Best tennis tips and predictions today

In the first match, we’ll be looking at Ena Shibahara to upset Caroline Garcia, who has been all over the place in recent weeks, and doesn’t seem to be trending positively whatsoever.

In the other match, we’ll back Monastir defending champion Elise Mertens to maintain a solid level and beat Eva Lys. While Lys could prove to be a bit of a challenge, we expect the Belgian to cruise through.

Shibahara to beat Garcia @ 3/2

Ena Shibahara has been playing a lot of singles tennis, even though she spent most of the past few years playing doubles. She wants to make it as a singles player, and she’s been putting in a lot of good work.

While her level hasn’t been superbly impressive, she has been improving significantly. She’s basically getting better with every match and is quite solid overall.

Shibahara won’t hit you off the court, but she doesn’t have to against the opponent she’s facing. Caroline Garcia has always been an aggressive baseliner who hits many winners during a match. However, she also commits lots of mistakes, and lately, she’s been making them at an incredible rate. Her tennis hasn’t looked great recently, and with the way both players have been trending, an upset here is not impossible.

The odds reflect this situation because Shibahara is nowhere near as good as Garcia, but she’s been given a good chance since Garcia has been dreadful. We’re backing Shibahara to pull off the upset based on her recent performances.

The value is too much to pass up, despite the riskiness of the pick.

Mertens vs Lys – under 20.5 games @ 5/6

We’re backing top seed Elise Mertens to have another good outing in Monastir and win this match in two straightforward sets. The reason is simple: she won this event both last year and the year before, and neither time faced many problems.

Her first match this year was an utter beatdown against a player who, to be fair, couldn’t do much against her. Eva Lys should do better, but it’s highly unlikely that she can do much to challenge Mertens.

We’re backing Mertens to win this one in under 20.5 games. Even if Lys is a pretty solid player, we still think it’s a very generous line with the odds we’re getting here. Mertens rarely, if ever, drops sets in Monastir, so we don’t think Lys will win a set.

We think Mertens is good enough to win the sets at least 6-4, 6-4, which would cover this line. In reality, we expect her to do so even more easily because she’s just been that great here. As the best player in the past two years, the No. 1 seed, and a strong contender for the trophy, Mertens is a solid pick.

So these are today’s best picks, with two interesting matches and a nice variety of tips for you.
