SlipsTips shares a Bet Builder ahead of Real Madrid’s clash with Al-Hilal at the Club World Cup on Wednesday night.
Real Madrid vs Al-Hilal (Wednesday, 20:00)
On the hunt for a record-breaking sixth Club World Cup triumph, Real Madrid will get their campaign up and running when they face Al-Hilal at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Spanish heavyweights are the bookmakers’ favourites to go all the way this summer, and they should have no issues navigating their way out of Group H, where they have been housed alongside Pachuca, RB Salzburg and matchday one opponents Al-Hilal.
I’ve already covered this clash in a separate match preview but I’m now going to take a look at the Bet Builder market.
Real Madrid Win
Xabi Alonso will take charge of Real Madrid for the first time on Wednesday night and his side should have too much class for Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. The new Real Madrid chief will be keen to hit the running in what arguably represents his side's toughest test in Group H. While Real Madrid endured a difficult season by their own high standards, they did end the campaign in good form, triumphing in seven of their final eight La Liga matches of the season.
It’s also worth noting that the two clubs contested the Club World Cup final back in 2023, with Real Madrid claiming a thrilling 5-3 victory. While this clash might not be as goal-heavy as their previous meeting, Real Madrid’s superior quality should be evident when the pair face off in Florida.
Kylian Mbappe to Score or Assist
All eyes will be on Kylian Mbappe on Wednesday night and the Real Madrid superstar looks well placed to make his mark following an impressive debut season in the Spanish capital. Mbappe ended the domestic season with a mighty impressive return of 43 goals across his 56 appearances in all competitions. That goal haul is made all the more impressive by the fact the Frenchman also chipped in with five assists for good measure.
That doesn't augur well for an Al-Hilal side that failed to keep a clean sheet in 22 of their 34 Saudi Pro League matches this season, shipping multiple goals in 12 of those contests. Thus, Mbappe is the obvious candidate to exploit that defensive vulnerability with either a goal or an assist on Wednesday night.
Ruben Neves to Commit 1+ Foul
I’ll wrap up the Bet Builder by backing Ruben Neves to commit a minimum of one foul. The Portuguese midfielder was a regular on the referee’s radar during his time with Wolves in the Premier League and that has continued to be the case since he made the move to the Middle East. In fact, Neves has been shown no fewer than 14 yellow cards across the last two Saudi Pro League seasons. What's more, the 28-year-old ended the most recent campaign by committing one foul or more in eight of his final nine appearances of the season, and that trend should continue against star-studded Real Madrid.
