Montpellier vs Lyon (20:00)
Montpellier will be looking to maintain their momentum when they lock horns with Lyon at the Stade de la Mosson on Tuesday night.
Michel Der Zakarian's men picked up an eye-catching 3-1 win over Nice on Saturday, however, they will face a stern test this midweek from a Lyon side who recently reached the last-four of the Champions League.
Having said that, Rudi Garcia's charges come into this clash off the back of a dour 0-0 draw away at Bordeaux last Friday night and few of their key players reportedly remain on the radar of a number of Europe's elite clubs.
Les Gones brilliantly dismantled Dijon in their opening assignment of the season but they will be faced with a Montpelier outfit who have won 10 of their last 13 Ligue 1 tussles on home turf.
With that in mind, I'm going to steer clear of the more traditional markets, however, there is an alternative angle that has caught my eye in Sky Bet's Request A Bet market.
The combination of both teams to take at least one corner in each half and both teams to collect 10+ booking points gives us a nicely priced 10/11 shot with Sky Bet.
Collectively both of these sides have racked up 44 corners across the four league games they have contested to date – an average of 11 corners per-game – and therefore I'm happy to back both teams to hit at least one corner either side of the interval on Tuesday night.
What's more, both sides tend to set up with wing-backs who play a key role in both sides' preferred system by providing width, which in turn could result in the both teams racking up plenty of corners.
I'm also happy to back both teams to collect at least one card given how freely cards have been flowing in France – the last round of fixtures saw a whopping 66 cards flashed.
Furthermore, referee Francois Letexier averaged 4.5 cards per-game last term and issued four cards in his last outing, all of which adds to the appeal of siding with the above-mentioned combination in what could be an evenly-matched contest.
