BRITAIN have relinquished their grip on the Davis Cup and their conquerors Argentina can now look forward to November's final.
The Argentines, with Juan Martin Del Potro their talisman, are underdogs at 6-4 with Skybet to claim the trophy while fellow finalists Croatia are 3-5 favourites (Marathonbet).
The Grand Slams are over till next season but there's still ATP Tour action this week with the St Petersburg Open featuring new US Open champ Stan Wawrinka.
Other sporting highlights today include Shanghai Masters snooker and county cricket so feel free to add your tips.

Think we will say that’s a perfect first week followed by a dire second week. My lord the Bears have been mauled. They have had 3 or 4 injuries tonight though so may be worth getting any bets in on the Cowboys game early.
Morning gents. 5 yards was all I needed for Matthews and a dropped 35 yard TD pass was the difference between a good and bad night. The Bears crumbling and giving the Eagles a big lead gave the yards little chance in the fourth quarter so frustrating to be so close to both bets winning.
So very much a step back in week 2, but plenty of opportunities to get it back. Totals will be posted winning or losing every week and I won’t disappear halfway through the season.
Going back to the ‘opinion’ matter yesterday. Opinions are fair enough, but when you’re not betting on the game, then nothing should be said in my own opinion. People put good research in their tips for somebody to come along and just say it won’t happen, just so they can put an ‘I wish I had bet it’ if it comes in. But nothing gets said about the opinions on the other games that the said person was wrong about. No need lads. Stick to tips, and not biased opinions, if posters clash then I can deal with that. Only one can win.
Anyway, enough of that and onto week 3 with an early tip for the NCAAF Heisman Trophy winner. Lamar Jackson has taken the ‘football’ world by storm and he’s only played two games. 900+ passing yards for 8 TD’s with 400+ rushing yards and 10 TD’s in two games is insane even for college stats. They put up 63 points against FSU on the weekend, their biggest loss in their history despite coming into the game with a 14-2 record against Louisville.
Just to show how crazy this is, 10 days ago he was 66/1 @ PP, and now best priced @ 11/10 @ PP with William Hill and Bet Victor giving you 1/2. Hurry. It won’t last.
Lamar Jackson Heisman Trophy Winner @ 11/10 @ PP – 10 points
I thought you were on Jordan Matthews o62.5, didn’t he get 71 yards?
Tried to reply to this twice now but to no avail.
Jordan as far as I can tell you have had arguments with 3 people in this thread at least, all of us in profit on the first two weeks of the season, along with others.
Do not try and write your own narrative. I never said the Lions wouldn’t win, I actually stated they probably would along with the Broncos. I just said my opinion was to stay away from them, which was correct.
I did have a bet on the game, I played it safe and went for the handicap. Saying I wish I’d been brave enough to back them to win is logical when the 2nd half of the double lost correct?
To please you I will change my statement to ‘ah I wish I had backed the Titans and the Colts…even though they lost.’
Take your own advice and stick to the tips, as we know you’re good at that and let’s all help each other out.
Guys such as Jordan and Johnb have strong opinions which both like to put across.
There’s nothing wrong with that and when you’re right and Jordan’s wrong you can come and give it big licks.
Mr F, this is the exact issue. He backed the Lions, I said personally I would stay away from them and they lost. Now he’s going crazy because I also said I’d stay away from another favourite who would win.
This is all just such a waste of time. I gave my opinion. You don’t agree. That’s how life works. Let’s move on with it.
As I said they have strong opinions. No one’s asking anyone to agree and neither are they always correct.
You are correct Nick. I must have missed a catch because I thought he ended up on 64 and I needed 68.5. It’s been a long couple of nights haha
