IT'S a big derby weekend in Scotland with Hibs v Hearts first up tonight followed by Rangers v Celtic as the main event on Sunday.
They say form goes out of the window when city rivals meet but bookies haven't bought into that.
In both games there are big outsiders and a double on Hearts and Rangers pays 18-1 at betfair while Hibs/Celtic is no bigger than 19-5 at Marathonbet.
I'm in the green camp – tonight anyway – and reckon Neil Lennon's men will edge a win. As far for the Ibrox clash – all will be revealed in tomorrow's Punter.
Matches between the Edinburgh sides couldn't have been closer this season with a 1-0 home win apiece and a 0-0 draw.
Hibs are a biggest 10-11 with their shirt sponsors Marathonbet while another 1-0 – and they've won the last four meetings at Easter Road – is 5-1 at McBookie.
Under 1.5 match goals for the fourth time this term pays 2-1 at Marathonbet while under 2.5 is 8-13 with McBookie.
A Hearts win is 4-1 at William Hill while a draw can't be ruled out at 5-2 with bet365.
For a Hibs first scorer consider January signing Florian Kamberi at 5-1 with bet365 while John McGinn, often the man for the big occasion, is 11-2 at betfair to net.
For Hearts their dangerman is Kyle Lafferty who is 3-1 with William to hit the target.
Meanwhile, for those looking to get on early – and oddschecker say nearly 60 per cent of WDW bets are on Rangers – the Ibrox side are a best 3-1 at Marathonbet while Celtic are 11-10 at William Hill.
It's the first Old Firm meeting for a few years where I wouldn't be surprised at any outcome and because Rangers are so big it allows fans to back them not to lose at 17-20 with Marathonbet.
Recommended Bets
- Hibs
- McGinn to score
- Under 2.5 goals
This is what i was hoping to read ?
2 goals in 4 games this season ?.
How many buses do they have in Edinburgh.
Under 1.5 goals.
More red cards than goals most likely.
Don’t get much Scottish footy here in Wales but rangers seem underpriced at 3-1.
Celtic will surely be up for this game and if so 11-10 is a must as simply they are a better team.
Its fine rangers beating the also rans, Kilmarnock are doing similar at the moment, but beating Celtic may prove a step too far.
Again red card looks likely here.
In fact (don’t know prices) but hearts and rangers games red card double maybe ?.
I’d say Rangers were overpriced on current form.
Best price I can see for a red is 15-8 – Willie Collum’s the man in charge and has shown two in the past week.
Strasbourg vs Monaco
Ok guys, you’d remember the 90/1 First Goalscorer winner I picked out a few weeks ago. I’m on him again tonight. Strasbourg are playing at home to Monaco. If Jean Eudes Aholou can score away to PSG then the midfielder every chance to score at home against Monaco. He’s scored 5 goals in 27 appearances.
The price difference with 888sport is huge compared to other bookies. He’s available at very decent odds and worth a few quid. I’ll be on him for first and anytime goalscorer and hopefully I’ll be increasing my weekend betting fund. Here’s an idea of the prices so you can see that he’s way overpriced. 888sport have definitely made a mistake with this one.
First Goalscorer
34/1 888sport
12/1 Paddy Power
11/1 Betfred
10/1 Skybet
10/1 Hills
10/1 Ladbrokes
10/1 Coral
Anytime Goalscorer
13/1 888sport
4/1 Paddy Power
4/1 Betfred
10/3 Ladbrokes
10/3 Skybet
10/3 Coral
3/1 Hills
Good luck if you decide to get on.
The red card double pays 7.6/1 with sky. Poor odds Imo. Good luck if you go with it.
Bumped into Don Cowie in the hairdressers an hour ago and his words were “tonight will be tough”.
He said Berra has had an injection and should play but they still have a few injuries…the youbg lad on loan from United a big loss.
You know Lennon will have them fired right up with Leveins words ringing in all their ears.
Hibs at home 5/6 on current form too good a price to dismiss for me.
