Saturday’s Top Tips: Torrent of Goals Can Lead Us to a Pot of Gold

Goals were flying in last weekend in the Premier League with 43 goals scored in the 10 matches and all but one seeing Over 3.5 Goals.

Whether the English top flight is actually the Best League in the World is open for debate but last week’s goal rush makes it the most entertaining of Europe’s big five, averaging 3.2 goals per game.

It also boasts the highest percentage of matches that go Over 2.5 (64.47%) but is narrowly pipped by the Bundesliga for Over 3.5.

So last week’s flurry of goals was no freak and punters could do worse that attack the goals markets today.

All seven matches to see three or more goals pays a healthy 22/1 whilst its 428/1 for them all to go Over 3.5 which could be worth perming.

Man City kick things off when they host Everton at 12.30. Goals should be on the agenda for Pep Guardiola’s men who have top spot in their sights and Over 2.5 goals for the champions looks good at 5/6.

Tottenham and Brighton shouldn’t disappoint on the goals front either. Son Heung-min is back in the Spurs squad and the stats all point to an entertaining affair.

Three of Spurs last four have seen Over 3.5 Goals which is a 10/11 shot today. They’re usually good for an early goal and a strike inside the first 22mins pays 5/6 at Bet365.

Luton have caught the eye in recent weeks and will be popular at 3/4 at home to Sheffield United. They’re scored four in each of their last two outings and are 7/1 to make it three in a row.

Morton pulled off the first surprise of the fifth round of the Scottish Cup when they knocked-out Motherwell last night and there could be another triumph for a Championship side over a Premeirship side at Firhill.

Livingston are Partick Thistle’s visitors and the Jags have been backed in from 21/10 to 11/8 to add to Livi’s current misery. Kris Doolan’s side know their way to goal so backing them to score two or more might be a better option at 11/10.

Last season’s finalists, Inverness, will be eyeing a Premiership scalp of their own. Hibs make the trip north but they’ll be encouraged by a strong second half display against Celtic in midweek.

The Hibees are always a better side with Martin in it and his return, allied to several new faces should see an upturn in fortunes for Nick Montgomerie’s men, staring with a win today at 10/11.

Ayr United gaffer Scott Brown will be centre of attention at Ibrox. The former Celtic captain is 20/1 to lead his side to a unlikely success against Rangers.

It’s a match the Gers should dominate. They’ve won 13 and 14 corners in their last two home games so back them to hit double figures at 11/10 today. For a bit of a long shot try Over 14 corners at 10/1.

Callum Davidson is starting to have an impact at Queen’s Park and in the Championship the Spiders will fancy the three points today at 6/4 against Dunfermline who are winless in seven.

Stenhousemuir got back to winning ways last weekend and stay well ahead of the pack with a win at East Fife at 4/5.
