SCHALKE will be desperate to stop their alarming slide when they face Union Berlin, the only side on an equally dismal run of form in the Bundesliga.
Last week's 1-0 loss at home to struggling Werder Bremen made it 10 games without a win for Schalke while Union's 4-1 thrashing in Monchengladbach extended their winless run to seven matches.
Pressure is mounting on David Wagner in Gelsenkirchen and defeat on their trip to the German capital could signal the end of his reign.
His side's horror run has all but ended their hopes of qualifying for Europe but they should be safe from relegation, sitting 10 points clear of third-bottom Fortuna Dusseldorf with five games to go.
The same can't be said of Union, however, as they are only four points clear of danger so Urs Fischer's men need the points more than Wagner's troops here.
I've cashed in by betting against Schalke in their last two games against Fortuna Dusseldorf and Werder Bremen but Union's own troubles make this a trickier result to predict.
How the bookies view it
The bookies also find this a tough one to call, with Union Berlin 20/13 with VBet and Schalke 21/10 at Unibet. With both sides in such awful form, a draw might be the best option at 23/10 with BetVictor.
Recent head to head
This is Union's first season in the German top flight so they have only faced Schalke twice before, losing both times.
Wagner's side won 2-1 at home earlier this season thanks to a late Suat Serdar goal (below) while a German Cup meeting ended in a 2-0 victory for the Gelsenkirchen side in 2001.
Players to watch
Schalke have only scored twice in their last nine games, with both goals coming from midfielder Weston McKimmie, who is 6/1 with Spreadex for anytime scorer here.
The strikers will have to score sometime so I'll try Benito Raman here as he netted in that 2-1 win over Union earlier this season. Raman is 3/1 with 888Sport for anytime scorer.
Union's Sebastian Andersson grabbed their consolation last week against Monchegladbach and has 14 for the season. The Swede is 15/8 with Paddy Power for a goal and that's decent value against such a leaky defence.
Anything else catch the eye?
Bet365 price a Union Berlin clean sheet at 2/1 which looks overpriced given Schalke's troubles in front of goal. I can't see there being a lot of goals in this one but under 2.5 goals is sadly a best 10/13 with VBet.
I can see there being a few cards with both teams desperate for a morale-boosting win and over 40 booking points pays 10/11 at Paddy Power.
