TUNISIA impressed during their opening World Cup game against Denmark and now face Australia in a crucial second game for both countries.
The African nation were arguably the better team against the Danes, who have been widely tipped as dark horses, yet could never quite assert their authority on the game.
Jalel Kadr's side buzzed about with enormous energy and caused the Danish players plenty of problems. They also had the backing of a huge support and that will be the same again on Saturday.
Australia got their campaign off to a dream start against the world champions, but that early goal only seemed to provoke France and once their head cleared, Les Blues bombarded the Aussie goal with attack after attack.
In truth, the Socceroos did well to get away with conceding only the four goals and the truth of the matter was a defence that consisted of three of the four playing in the Scottish Premiership and the other actually being Scottish – Harry Souttar – looked horribly out of their depth.
Bringing on Jason ‘Cumdog' Cummings also added to the general perception of Australia only being in Qatar for a glorified party.
How the bookies view it
Tunisia are favourites at slightly odds-against at 103/100. The Socceroos can be backed at 53/20 and the draw is 21/10.
Recent head to heads
The nations have only met once before and that was back in 2005. For what it's worth, Tunisia beatAustralia 2-0 at the Confedations Cup in Leipzig, Germany.
Players to watch
Odense striker Issam Jebali led the line for Tunisia and he caused the nation where he plays his football plenty of trouble. He is attractively priced at 61/20 to score anytime on Saturday.
Australia started with Mitchell Duke up front against the France and it was a thankless task for the Fagiano Okayama striker. He is 21/5 to net anytime against the Tunisians in what should be an easier task.
Anything else catch the eye?
Tunisia look a cracking bet here against an Australia side whose limitations were exposed against the French.
Granted, Tunisia aren't on the same level than France, but they caused the well-fancied Deanes enough problems to believe they can get joy against Australia, whose defence looked suspect.
Only some poor finishing saved them from a bloodbath and Tunisia and their huge support can get their first win at the tournament.
With that Socceroos defence, Tunisia should be able to breach them more than once and the 63/50 for them to score two or more is tempting.
