TOTTENHAM'S Champions League hopes look all but over as they continue to falter under Jose Mourinho.
A 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United means Spurs have won just one of their last six Premier League matches and post-restart it's four points from a possible nine.
That has left the Europa League their only realistic remaining target this season but Mourinho's men will be replaced in the top half of the table should they lose to Carlo Ancelotti's improving Everton side.
The Toffees are seeking a third successive league victory – a feat they have yet to achieve this season – and have shipped just one goal while taking seven points from their three games since lockdown.
Ancelotti's influence is clear on Everton after his first six months in charge and on current form they look likelier European candidates than their Monday night opponents.
How do the bookies view it?
Despite their recent purple patch the Blues have a rotten record against Spurs, failing to win any of the last 14 league meetings. To put that right, the are a temptingly chunky at 11-4 with Betfair.
Spurs, 2-0 winners over West Ham in their last home outing, are 21-20 at bet365 while a point apiece pays 13-5 at Betfred.
Betting angles
Spurs have never convinced since Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino at the helm in November and the defence has looked particularly vulnerable.
Six of their last seven matches have featured goals at both ends and Everton's pacy counter-attacking forwards will fancy their chances at the Tottenham Stadium. First port of call is both teams to net at 4-5 with SportNation.
The stats are similar for another goal-based pick. Only one of Tottenham's last seven league games has failed to yield a goal in each half. The net to bulge either side of the interval this time is worth a go at 5-6 with Coral.
And while the Toffees look overpriced for victory – they have to smash their Spurs hoodoo sometime – I'm happy to take them draw no bet at 33-20 with Unibet.
