Northern Ireland vs Iceland

, KO: 19:45 , Windsor Park
Iceland

Iceland are fresh from an impressive win over Scotland at Hampden and they'll be out to end their summer tour of the British Isles on a high by beating Northern Ireland in Belfast for good measure.

The Scots were heavy favourites on Thursday night but turned in one of their worst performances in years as Iceland claimed a deserved 3-1 win and brought up two bets for our man Greg.

That ended a poor run of just one win in seven games so Arnar Gunnlaugsson's men will head across the Irish sea with their tails up for this clash with Northern Ireland.

The Irish will probably give them a harder game than the dismal Scots, with Michael O'Neill working his magic once more in the dugout.

It took a while for his second reign to catch fire but Northern Ireland now look a decent again heading into the World Cup qualifiers.

Before Saturday's 2-1 friendly loss to Denmark in Copenhagen, which brought up another bet for Greg, O'Neill's side had lost just one of their last six games.

So the Irish boss will be looking to get back to winning ways against Iceland to boost confidence ahead of their first qualifier with Luxembourg in September.

How the bookies view it: Windsor spark for Irish

Northern Ireland have been strong at home, going six unbeaten at Windsor Park, so BoyleSports make them 21/20 favourites for this one. Iceland are 12/5 after their Hampden win while the draw pays 21/10.

Head to head: Iceland are hot stuff

These nations have faced off just four times before and it's Iceland who have held the upper hand, winning three and losing one. The last meeting came back in 2007 and a last-gasp Keith Gillespie own goal condemned Northern Ireland to a 2-1 friendly defeat.

Players to watch: The Price is right

West Brom midfielder Isaac Price has been a goal machine for Northern Ireland this season, with six of his seven goals coming in his country's colours. He's 11/4 with BoyleSports for another strike here.

Andri Gudjohnsen is keeping up the family tradition as he follows in the footsteps of famous father Eidur and grandad Arnor, another Icelandic legend. The 23-year-old scored a brilliant goal at Hampden and is 3/1 at BoyleSports for another strike in Belfast.

Probable line-ups

Northern Ireland will again be without defender Paddy McNair while O'Neill may opt to freshen things up a bit after playing in Denmark on Saturday night. Iceland should be along similar lines to the team that beat Scotland, although they could also make a few changes.

Northern Ireland: P Charles, Bradley, Ballard, Spencer, Hume, Saville, S Charles, Price, McCann, Devenny, Smyth.

Iceland: Olafsson, Gretarsson,  Ingason, Magnusson, Ellertsson, Johannesson, Haraldsson, Thorsteinsson, Gunnarsson, Gudmundsson, Gudjohnsen.

Anything else catch the eye?

Iceland carried a threat against Scotland, although their three-goal haul was largely down to Cieran Slicker turning in one of the worst goalkeeping debuts your likely to see at international level.

Northern Ireland have conceded in their last four games while Iceland have scored in their last nine so it bodes well for goals at both ends. BTTS pays just 4/5 with BoyleSports for this one but adding on over 2.5 goals boosts the odds to 6/4.

There's not much between these sides so it should be a close game. The half-time draw pays 20/21 at BoyleSports while backing most goals to come after the break is 21/20 with the same firm.
