It is a relegation six pointer on Sunday as Leicester City host AFC Bournemouth in a Premier League fixture on Saturday.
Seven years after winning their historic Premier League title, Leicester City are in danger of getting relegated from the topflight. They are currently second from bottom, two points from safety and are winless in their last eight matches across all competitions.
Things are looking bleak for Leicester at the moment as they are still seeking a permanent manager with the inexperienced Adam Sadler set to continue in interim charge. Sadler lost his first game as manager as the Foxes were beaten 2-1 at home by Aston Villa on Tuesday.
While Leicester City are generally low on confidence, one of the major problems is a lack of discipline at the back. They are constantly plagued by defensive errors and have kept just one clean sheet in their last 14 home matches across all competitions.
Bournemouth are also coming off a defeat as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Brighton & Hove Albion. They have won three and lost four of their last seven Premier League matches.
That run of results has not done Bournemouth any favours as they remain in the bottom three. However, the Cherries are part of a four-way tie on 27 points and with things constantly changing in the lower half of the table, they could climb as high as 13th if results go their way this weekend.
A major problem for Bournemouth this season is a poor record on their travels having won just once in their last 10 Premier League away matches. Gary O’Neil’s men have also struggled defensively on the road with just one clean sheet away from home all season.
How the bookies view it
Leicester City have the upper hand among the bookies with a home win priced at 9/10 by 10bet. A victory for Bournemouth is valued at 3/1 by William Hill, who are also offering odds of 27/10 for a draw.
Head to head
Leicester City and Bournemouth have claimed four wins each and five draws from 13 previous matches. Both teams have won the last two meetings on their own turf with Bournemouth running out 4-1 winner in the reverse fixture back in October.
Players to watch
Much of Leicester City’s attacking play goes through James Maddison, who is their leading scorer with nine Premier League goals. The midfielder also carries a major threat from set pieces and could be worth considering to score anytime at 12/5 by Paddy Power.
Philip Billing is the top scorer for Bournemouth this season with six goals and could be the one to watch on Saturday. The midfielder was also on target in the reverse fixture and is priced at 9/2 by bet365 to get on the score sheet once again.
Anything else catch the eye?
Leicester City and Bournemouth have struggled at the back this season and with both teams desperate for a win right now, an open contest can be expected here.
There have been over 2.5 goals in the last three meetings and a similar outcome is priced at 5/6 by BetVictor, over 3.5 goals is valued at 21/10 by Unibet, who is also offering odds of 4/5 on both teams to score.
There have been more goals after the break in the last two meetings and Saturday’s clash could be set to follow a similar pattern at 11/10 with Paddy Power.
