ENGLAND will aim to lift themselves off the foot of the League A Group 3 table in the Nations League when they meet Hungary at Molineux on Tuesday night.
Taking just two points from the first nine on offer leaves the Three Lions down in fourth place after three rounds of fixtures.
After opening their campaign with a shock 1-0 loss at Hungary, Gareth Southgate's side earned a 1-1 draw at Germany before playing out a dull 0-0 with Italy on Saturday.
That means England are at risk of ending the month without a win from four Nations League matches so they will desperate post their first success in the group at the fourth attempt.
Hungary, meanwhile, continue to demonstrate that they are not going to be pushovers despite being placed in a particularly challenging pool.
Not only did Marco Rossi's side triumph in the reverse fixture, they have since narrowly lost to Italy, not to mention they head into this match off the back of a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Germany.
Outright Betting
Despite failing to win any of their last three competitive matches, England enter this contest as short-priced 2/7 favourites with Bet 365.
Hungary earned a 1-1 draw at Wembley last October but the same outcome here is an unfancied 47/10 (SBK) while the visitors are 13/1 (UniBet) underdogs to emerge victorious.
Betting Angles
You won't get rich backing the visitors at the above-mentioned odds but combining England to win and under four match goals will bring about a backable 4/5 (Bet 365) Bet Builder.
With just two points from their opening three games, England have no room for error here in their bid to hold on to their Nations League Group A ranking.
Gareth Southgate's side more often than not gone about their business in solid rather than spectacular fashion and while they may have to be patient here, I suspect they will eventually find a way through Hungary's dogged defence.
Hungary boss Rossi has forged a resolute side that are rarely blown away by their opponents, with the landlocked country losing just two of their last eight meaningful matches.
What's more, the Hungarians have lost by a margin greater than two goals in just one of their last 12 competitive clashes – a sample that includes spirited stalemates with the likes of big hitters France and Germany.
With this in mind, as well as the fact that England's last six completive victories against sides housed in the top-40 of Fifa's rankings have featured three goals or fewer, siding with the aforementioned 4/5 (Bet 365) selection at Molineux makes appeal.
Elsewhere, I'll also head to the anytime goalscorer market and take the 21/20 on offer with Bet 365 for Harry Kane to get on the scoresheet.
Kane remains the Three Lions' main source of goals and after hitting his 50th England strike last midweek, he could worth taking at odds-agisnt to add to his ever-growing tally on Tuesday night.
