Both Denmark and Sweden will be hoping to get off to the best possible start when they open their UEFA Women's European Championship accounts against each other on Friday evening.
The Nordic nations are joined in Group C by one of the pre-tournament favourites in Germany, so could be battling it out to finish in second place in the group, which would yield a spot in the knockout stage. Euros debutants Poland make up the rest of the group.
Sweden (sixth) are ranked higher than both Denmark (12th) and Poland (27th) in terms of the official FIFA Women's World Rankings, and so will be expecting to qualify alongside Germany (third). The Swedes are currently on an eight-match unbeaten streak in all competitions, and are in good form heading into the tournament.
In contrast, Denmark's form has been fairly patchy, with their previous 10 games in all competitions producing exactly five wins and five defeats. Perhaps significantly, two of those losses came against Sweden.
In fact, the Swedes have won three of the last four meetings, including a 6-1 thumping in the most recent UEFA Women's Nations League (UWNL) campaign. Nonetheless, they will be confident of kicking off their Euros campaign with all three points.
A win for either side could be significant, as it will likely give them the upper hand to qualify for the knockouts with Germany very much the favourites.
How the bookies view it: Sweden fancied to win third successive H2H
BoyleSports have Sweden as 8/15 odds-on favourites to win this one. A draw is valued at 11/4 with the same bookmaker, while a Denmark victory is a 9/2 outsider.
Recent head-to-head: Sweden hit Denmark for six
As mentioned previously, Sweden thrashed Denmark 6-1 in the UWNL as recently as in June. Stina Blackstenius was among the star performers with a hat-trick, and she can be backed to score anytime at 5/4 with BoyleSports.
Players to watch: Swede Stina could steal show
Pernille Harder is among the star names for Denmark after coming off the back of a double-winning campaign with German giants Bayern Munich.
Blackstenius netted a treble against the Danes in the previous meeting, and also opened the scoring in a 2-0 win for Sweden against Norway in their last outing.
Predicted lineups
Both teams have no fresh injury concerns heading into this clash, and so could name their strongest XIs possible. There are plenty of star names expected to start for both names from the pinnacle of the women's game.
Denmark Women: Ostergaard; Obaze, Ballisager, Veje; Thomsen, Hasbo, Snerle, Holmgaard; Vangsgaard, Bruun, Harder.
Sweden Women: Falk; Lundkvist, Bjorn, Sembrant, Andersson; Angeldahi, Asllani, Olme; Kaneryd, Blackstenius, Rolfo.
Anything else catch the eye?
Each of Sweden's previous two wins against Denmark have also seen both teams score, and this combination has had its odds enhanced by BoyleSports at 9/4. Given the goal-fest in the last H2H, backing Over 3.5 total goals could also be a wise bet at 19/10 with the same bookmaker.
