BOLTON seem to have finally turned a corner after some desperately dark times and a victory over Burton Albion would continue their promising start to the League One campaign.
Horrendous financial difficulties and successive relegations left Wanderers in the depths of despair but they started the long climb back by clinching promotion from League Two last season.
And fans are starting to dream of better times again after seeing Ian Evatt's team lose just once in their opening five games back in the third tier.
Evatt made a terrible start to his reign last year but Bolton kept faith with him and have been rewarded handsomely, with the former Barrow boss working his magic.
But Wanderers won't get it easy against a Burton side who have started the season in even better form, taking 10 points from their first five games.
After three successive mid-table finishes following their relegation from the Championship in 2018, Burton look in the mood to mount a push for promotion.
And with some of the pacesetters out of action this weekend due to international commitments, a win at the Macron would take Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's men soaring up the table.
How the bookies view it
It's a tough game to call but Bolton are the favourites at 13/10 with SBK while Burton Albion's best price is 12/5 at Boylesports. The draw pays 5/2 with Unibet and that might be worth a punt.
Recent head to head
Burton Albion have been a bogey team for Bolton who have yet to beat them across just five meetings. Four of those games ended in Albion wins and the other was draw.
They last faced off in League One two seasons ago with Burton winning a thriller 4-3 at the Macron (below) before the return game was drawn 2-2.
Players to watch
Eoin Doyle was Bolton's main man last season, netting 19 times including a strike at Forest Green that helped out man Tolu cash in. The veteran has kept that form going with three goals so far in the new campaign and is 37/20 with Unibet for anytime scorer.
Lucas Akins has netted twice for Burton Albion this term and is on their penalties. That makes him their best bet for a goal at 14/5 with Unibet.
Anything else catch the eye?
There were goals galore when these sides last faced off in League One, with 11 scored across the two meetings. Bolton have also been involved in some thrillers this season, drawing 3-3 with MK Dons and Wimbledon before beating Port Vale 3-2 in their last outing. The goals haven't been flowing quite as freely for Burton but I fancy over 2.5 goals here 19/20 with Bet365.
Both teams to score is decent for accumulators at 5/6 with SportNation while a goal in each half pays 17/20 at William Hill, another good option for accas.
It could pay to back a one-goal winning margin as that bet has come up in three of the five meetings between these sides. Tipping Bolton to edge it by a goal pays 3/1 at Skybet and the odds increase to 4/1 for the same bet with Burton Albion.
888Sport have some interesting requested bets and I like the look of the 11//10 on offer for Burton to score and win over 3.5 corners.
